I return to Grayrock and got off Pure, he look exhausted even for a horse his age and I walked up to the Sheriff's office ,he was sitting at his desk as usual waiting for me . I told him what happened . ' Been drinking,' he suggested as he tipped his white hat .I sat down in front of his desk in an old chair .
' Sheriff you know me better,' I laughed , as he'd got up he move around the desk, holding onto it,steadying himself .He was holding onto a bottle too .But I didn't say nothing he'd was the best Sheriff this town had had . Watching him I saw him go outside ,that's why they'd called him Billy Rock . As he walked it look like he was rocking back and forth too .That's why they called him Billy Rock .
' I'll be back,' he said tipping his hat ,' I have to water the tree a little if you know what I mean .' he walked outside limping as he went .
