~Money Can Never Buy Real Love~

The alarm started to sound and Kayla knew her kinky dream was too good to be true .  She never liked returning to reality.  She woke up with the window cracked. Her room was cold and she snuggled under the covers.  Fall was almost over,  and winter was near. The big trees in the neighborhood had lost all there leaves. When she looked out the window all she saw were stick trees.

It was a typical Monday morning in Kayla’s house. She got her son fed and dressed for day care, fed the dog, and took the trash to the curb. She was actually on time today. After dropping her son off, she decided to stop at the post office and mail some long over due bills.

On the way there her hands started tingling and then everything went black. She saw herself floating above her car.  She couldn’t remember the car accident only floating through a bright tunnel. Then the next minute everything went black.

Years had passed before she woke up from the coma to a man she didn’t remember. She had amnesia after the accident, and the paramedic gave her a new identity as Ashley Wade Simpson.  The paramedic knew there was a chance she could remember her past but took a chance anyway.

He came from old money and could have any woman he desired.  The innocence and purity in Ashley brought substance to his life. He knew she was different. She hadn’t been around the block like the other women in his life.  He knew he could make her love him with material things.

He could never tell her what really happened that dreadful day.  If she remembered her life before she would try to escape. He had to hide her away, or she might leave and remember her old life. It was the only way from people recognizing her.

Her last husband could never give her the good life; but he loved her and treated her with respect. He fell into a severe depression when his wife wouldn’t wake up. He felt like a failure and left town. He never got to say goodbye to his first love. Her new husband had this SECRET that only he knew and planned on taking to his grave.  If he couldn’t have her nobody could.

He was her fatal attraction, and would kill anyone that tried to take her away. She was his trophy wife, and everything looked perfect on the outside. Everything was far from perfect and Ashley wore shackles day,  and night. Her new husband controlled her, and decided what she could say and do. She was in prison without a break. She prayed for prince charming to ride in to town and save the day.

Ashley was living the life of luxury but very controlled.  Her husband never kissed her and complained that she needed to get to the gym. She could never please him. He said it was constructive critism and that she talked out of her ass. "How could this be love." she thought. If she was never good enough then why won't he let her leave?

When he was home he just slept; completely ignoring her. She never felt love,  and didn’t understand how she got herself in her current situation.

She couldn’t remember how they met. It was a mystery in her eyes. All she knew was unhappiness and failure. On her way to the grocery store one afternoon she had a funny feeling someone was watching her. She got goosebumps when a gentleman locked eyes with her. She had seen him before; he owned the kite store.

Ashley couldn’t stop thinking about him but knew it was wrong. She was a married woman and should carry on like she never met him.  She knew they would just end up in bed and her husband would never forgive her adultery.  He would find out because he knows everything she does.

He even has video cameras in every room to monitor her every move.  Her only freedom was the trip to the local grocery store. When she got home from the grocery store she started dreaming about a different life in the country with a new baby boy.

Her husband in her dream was the most passionate man she had ever been with. He had a muscular build and held her tight while making love to her. He kissed every inch of her body making her feel like a super star. She knew it was just a dream and would have to wake up but didn’t want to.

She kept having these passionate dreams since the accident and decided it was time to find out why?  She always felt like something was missing and decided to hunt down this interesting guy that made her heart skip. She went to the kite store and walked in and almost fainted. Everything was so familiar and she couldn’t figure out why?

They both looked at each other and attached one another. They had the most passionate sex! Explosive was a good word for the feelings that night.  Ashley knew something wasn’t right in her new life. This man was her soul mate and she knew she had been with him before.

She felt so guilty and couldn’t look at her husband anymore. She planned a get away to escape and have a new identity.  When her husband left for his weekly business trip she packed her car and left town. On the way to the under ground protection home she chucked her wallet in the lake. She didn't want to remember that life.

There was a new life waiting on the horizon.  Ashley was happy to give away the wealth for a real life full of love, and passion. Money can never buy real love. Good health is the real wealth and that only happens when your happy. Ashley was meant to be with that special stranger from the kite store.  She felt it in her heart and knew he felt it too. Real love will always come back if it was meant to be, and that was Ashley's destiny.

This story shows author Chessly Nesci's romantic and fantastic side, which is a refreshing relief from her excellent but somewhat darker pieces. But even here, there is a crime, a kidnapping and the entrapment of the character's soul. When she recognizes the owner of the kite store, she leaves it to our imagination to figure who this person is -- her husband or perhaps a man she'd been having fantasies about prior to her car accident. One of the best parts is when she tosses her wallet and ID out the window and willfully marches forward into her new life. In doing this, the author has shown the triumph of the human spirit and how it cannot be held hostage by power or the trappings of wealth.

Nesci's "happily ever after" fairytale type endings should make her appeal to both young and mature readers who want a story simply told and ended on a positive note. I sense this will tendency will fall away once she has firmly established herself in the writing world. She seems to be frolicking now and enjoying the freedom of writing whatever she desires, which isn't possible with mainline publishers, whether the piece is a poem, story, or a novel. Let her play now,I say, because her emerging talent and the fact that she is so incredibly prolific (new works seem to appear within hours) makes me believe Chessly Nesci will one day end up in the hands of a mainstream publisher.
