A mother writes to her little boy, to tell him how much she loves him, even though he is disabled.

December 18, 2009, 4:01 a.m., C.S.T., Dallas, Texas~

Dear Jeremiah Daniel~

You are my big, brave boy, and I love you with all of my heart and soul.  I love you more than ducks love water.  I love you more than words can ever possibly say.

You are my world; I cannot imagine my world without you in it.

When you came to us as a baby from Korea, our lives were changed in ways we could not have even dreamed of.  We loved you when we first saw your picture; we knew immediately that you were the one for us.  As you grow older, our love for you only grows.

Now you are seven years old and have turned into a sweet-natured, thoughtful little man who thinks of others before himself, even when in the hospital for another surgery or infection.  You have taught us more about the word "courage" than most adults could ever do.

I know sometimes you wish you could run like your brothers or sisters, or the other kids at play.  I know that you don't like having to rely on a wheelchair, crutches, or leg braces, but sweetie, you are still able to get around.  Nothing has ever stopped you; if you were down (because of surgery or being sick), you were never down for long; it wasn't long before you were ready and rarin' to get back on your feet!

You are still that way.  I have never seen such gumption, such determination in a little boy!  You are absolutely incredible!!

You have taught us to look beyond your physical disabilities.  You teach us about acceptance, tolerance, patience, determination, and compassion towards others.  You have the spirit of Christ within you, and you aren't afraid to tell others about His love.

We enjoy hearing you sing at church, hearing you laugh, watching you play t-ball with your friends during baseball seasaon, and watching you interact with your brothers and sisters.  Sometimes you do get mad when they pick on you, but you always forgive them, each and every time!

Jeremiah, I hope you have a Christmas that is beyond your wildest dreams!  I think you will like what we got you.  I know you are excited about the presents; we all are, but we should always remember the true meaning of Christmas:  the birth of our Saviour!  That is the main reason behind Christmas!!

Well, sweet boy, I will go now.  I have to get ready to go to work.  I will see you tonight, when you get home from school.  Take care of yourself, have an awesome, fun-filled day, and know that I love you more than life itself!  God bless you, Jeremiah!!  He certainly blessed us when He brought you into our lives!

~With much love, your Mommy.  :)
