~Make Believe Land~ 

         Once upon a time there was a very lonely middle aged woman. She always hoped to find love in the real world, but no one wanted her. She felt invisible to everyone. The only thing in her life that she looked forward to was her daily latte at the local coffee house. Everywhere she looked couples were hugging and smooching. She couldn’t take the rejection anymore and started hibernating in her room. She had become an introvert and a pack rat. She knew she would never meet that special someone if she was afraid to leave her house.

           She started dreaming of the perfect love that would make her feel beautiful, and loved. She had dreams of passion and lust. In her dreams she was perfect, and the sweetest guy worshipped the ground she walked on. She knew that wouldn’t happen in the real world, but continued to wish upon a star. Well, one night her wish came true . After getting comfortable in her little bed she fell fast asleep. She found herself floating above the rest of the world and into the clouds. It looked like our world only more colorful with flowers and greenery all around.

            As soon as she got there a very handsome gentleman held out his hand to her. “Good morning sweetheart.” She instantly passes out, and he catches her in his arms. “Where am I she says?”  “I’m only dreaming and will wake up soon.” The gorgeous gentleman then held out his hand to ask her along. “Anything your heart desires my love.”

        “Well,  I have never been with a man and don’t know what I’m supposed to do?” “I’ve never felt real passion, and desire.”  “Could you show me, then maybe someone might want me?” After feeling true bliss for days, she was now experienced and  could get a man on her own. When she woke up she was alone and wanted a man badly.

        What was she going to do?  She had never been on a real date,  and had no numbers in her Blackberry. People had always told her to walk the aisles in a supermarket looking for a catch. No one was looking; in fact they only looked away. She tried to talk to men but they always gave her the cold shoulder.

        She felt so beautiful in Make Believe Land. She forgot she was an old washed up automobile with four flats and the bumper falling off. That was the real world vision of her. After years went by with no love, or passion she slipped into a great depression. She prayed every night to return to that special place. Why was it taking so long to get there? 

         Just when she was going to give up on Make Believe Land,  she floated up into the sky.  Finally, she would feel love and passion again. When she got to the top her father was waiting for her dressed up in a fancy suit wearing Grey Flannel cologne.

         He smiled and gave her the biggest hug ever. “Follow me sweetheart, I have someone for you to meet.” As she followed him, she saw old friends running up to hug her. She felt beautiful and loved for the first time in her life. “Darling this is your life now and you deserve to be happy.”  Out of the corner of her eye, is the handsome gentleman that showed her what love is supposed to feel like. He approached the father and said, “You can go on now; I will take care of your daughter”. They shook hands and the daughter lived happily ever after in Make Believe Land.
