Teeka Daniels here.  Sorry if I haven't written; really haven't felt like it.  Hope you understand.

Ever since JaVonte', my youngest brother, died last year as a result of the swine flu, I just don't feel like doing much of anything:  I miss him too bad.  I am doing a little bit better, but there are days where I wish he was still with us.  I guess it is going to take a very long time for me to stop grieving, but friends and family say that this is normal. 

The Fourth of July was good, but it would had been a lot better if JaVonte' were still with us.  He loved fireworks.  I bet he had the best seat in the house:  he could probably see every firework display in the world!

We went to our city's annual celebration.  It was good to laugh and forget about things, even if only for a day.  I did get to thinking about JaVonte' during the fireworks though, and they made me a little bit sad.

It is hot here in Galveston.  There was a tropical storm (Alex) that came through last week; we got dumped on, but it was worse around Brownsville and Corpus Christi.  Now there's Bonnie, and we don't know what direction she will take, or if she will turn into a hurricane.  I pray and hope not:  ever since (Y)Ike last year, I don't want any more hurricanes!!  I hate hurricanes, and I also hate tornadoes!

At least until what Bonnie decides to do, we can go to the beach and go swimming to cool off if we get a little too hot.  Or we could go to one of the gaming places where we can play games, and mama and daddy can relax and think about themselves for a while.  Or we could go to a movie.  Last week we saw "Toy Story 3", and it was sooooo good!  I would love to see it again!!

I am going to see more fireworks this weekend:  on Saturday and Sunday, there's a big Cajun festival coupled with a Freedom Festival, and there's gonna be fireworks on Saturday and on Sunday.  So I have that to look forward to.  I just hope the weather co-operates:  I don't want things to get rained out, and I want to see more fireworks!!
