My name isSomme Peiter Gorgensen.  I am 11 years old.  I live with my family in Ivalo, Finland.

I am in the sixth grade at primary school.  School is okay, but I'd rather be playing outside with my friends.  I don't like getting up early in the morning.  I'd rather be sleeping in my warm bed back at home and not rising until noon, like I do on Saturdays and Sundays!

I have two sisters named Anna and Erika.  They are eight and two.  I get along with Anna better than the baby; the baby is always in my things, and she is very spoiled.  She drives me crazy!!

I like to do many things, including reading, playing on the computer, writing, playing basketball or football, snow skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, watching the auroras (auroras are very common here, espeically in the fall or spring months, but they can happen any time of the year; lately we've had a lot of auroral activity), dancing, and singing. 

When I grow up, I'd like to become a teacher like my father.  (Mother stays home to care for the baby while we older kids are at school.  On the weekends, she takes care of all of us.)

The weather here is very cold, with lots of snow on the ground left over from the last winter storm.  We may have more snow in a day or so.  It has been a very cold and snowy winter.  I am more than ready for spring to come; that way, I can get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather!

I have many friends, including Berit Goedfern, Tac Petersenn, Birtta Constantinos, and Lut Knudsen.  All but Birtta are in my grade, and Birtta is my neighbour.  She lives across the street from me with her mamma, papa, younger brother, and baby sister.  I play with her most of the time if I am not playing with my own two sisters.  She loves to play house and chase me around the yard.

Well, I guess I will go.  I can't seem to think of anything else to write about myself.  This is a lot harder than it looks.  Until later, this is Somme Gorgensen saying Nakemiin!  (I speak both Finnish and English.  I also speak Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, and German.)
