Sorry if I haven't written in so long: life has a way of detouring your plans when you least expect it ...
Or maybe I didn't write about myself at all. Oops! Sorry about that; forgive me??
My name is Erick Lee Montgomery. I am studying to become a doctor; am an intern now; still have several years to go yet before I earn my medical wings. I'm also busy raising a very loving and growing family. I am married to Crystal Marie (nee' Moliere'), and we have three wonderful, amazing, beautiful children: Mogene Elizabeth (11); Erick Lee, Jr. (8); and the baby, Tanner William, who is four. Our children are our world (as is me finishing medical school, which seems to take up an awful lot of my time ...).
In the winter months, I work at a local ski resort not too far from where we live, as a member of the ski patrol; have done that for years, ever since I was in my teens. Skiing is something I have done all my life: I was born right in the heart of ski country, in the state of Utah. (I moved here to Tennessee when I was a young adolescent; it was very hard at first, but I since learned to adjust. LOL)
I live in Nashville with my family. Hard to believe that I have been with Crystal Moliere' now for over 13 years. I just love her so much; she is my shining star, my reason for being!
Crystal is disabled. She was born mute (she communicates via sign language or by writing things down; our house is full of her notes! LOL). In addition to that, she also has fibromyalgia, acute transverse myelitis (ATM; she is paralyzed from the waist on down, but she can walk for shorter trips with crutches, although most of the time she uses her wheelchair), and MS. She is a medical mess, but all I can say is this: thank God we have good insurance! :)
Crystal has four sisters: Louisiana, Indiana, Florida, and Arizona. She did have a fifth sister (Georgia), but Geo died in a plane crash while on vacation off the New England coast; this happened over twenty years ago. Her sister Louie lives here in Nashville not far from us with her huge family of adopted children (plus two extra bonuses, which were both totally unexpected; they're three now; they'll be four in November); the others live in Louisiana, which is where she and her four sisters were born.
Crystal works as a medical services specialist at Nashville Memorial Hospital, which is where I do a lot of my internship. I also intern at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Fisk University Hospital, but a lot of my time is spent at Nashville Memorial. We both enjoy our jobs very much.
Two of our children (Mogene and Erick, Jr.) are in school. Erick, Jr. just completed second grade while his big sister (Mogene) completed fifth grade. Tanner will be starting kindergarten in the fall; he is very excited about going to "big kids" school, where he can finally be with his big brother and sister. It will be nice to have all three children in school for once! LOL
Mogene is a very talented athlete and singer, having won awards in track and voice; as for Erick, Jr. (we call him "E.J."), he is gifted in baseball; baseball is his passion. He wants to be a major league baseball player when he grows up. Meanwhile, Tanner is a typical little boy: he loves to run around, holler at the top of his lungs, and get as dirty as possible. LOL
Sadly, none of the kids have inherited my love for skiing. Oh, they can ski, but they are not as passionate about it as I am. Crystal, meanwhile, could care less. She did ski before she was struck down with the ATM; she couldn't ski now if she tried. LOL In fact, we met at a ski resort; the rest is history, as they say. We met while I was tending to he after she'd fallen and broke her leg in a nasty fall. It was love at first sight (or should that be at first BREAK??).
