Very early this morning while sitting in the screen room, I realized the bird bath needed water. It was still dark outside, the sun was just coming up over the horizon. I found the bucket we usually carry water in, and set out to put water in the bird bath.
It also has a hose in the center that keeps water flowing, causing a waterfall effect which is so peaceful and calming while I am sitting outside.
There are flowers surrounding the birdbath which I hadn't noticed for a while. Some of them had weeds which needed to be pulled out. I leaned over, after dumping water into the bird bath, and pulled the weeds. I threw them in the grass behind me, thinking I would pick them up later.
My little dog had disappeared momentarily, so I walked back towards the door, it's still barely daylight, to see what he was doing.
About an hour later, my husband came outside and noticed the bird feeders were empty. While he was filling them I heard him yelling.
"What did you do that for?" He was looking at all the weeds lying on his beautifully manicured lawn.
"Honey, I wake up every morning, just thinking of things to do to iritate you."
He looked at me without missing a beat, "you succeeded."
