This is the last night before Jesus went to the cross. Come with me to Gethsename garden and experience what took place there.

Here comes Jesus with his disciples all eleven of them. Then he said sit here while I go and pray. He stops and call Peter, James and John three of his faithful ones. He went a little further and then turn to them and said. My soul is exceedingly  sorrowful even unto death. Tarry here and watch   while i go yonder and pray.

Jesus came into this world for one purpose and that was  to die for our sins.  So for 33 yrs  everyday took him one step closer to the cross. Along the way he did everything good to all who were willing to believe and recieve him. Many did and were healed, got blessed, and fed;  and some were even brought back to life. But all along the way his was set like flint going towards the cross. Many hated him and tried various ways to kill him but they couldn't  because his hour had not yet come. But tonight he was only hours away from the cross. He did not ask the disciples to pray  for him as you or I would have done. This was much bigger than they. All he needed was for them to sit and watch while he go a little further to pray.

This was  an unusual night so this was not an ordinary prayer. He was carrying the sins of the entire world on his shoulder every generation past, present, and future;  the burden was so heavy the bible declares that  he fell on his face and prayed until his sweat became great drops of blood.

Jesus being God he knows all things and he sees all things . So lets try to understand just what he saw.  First of all he was not guilty of anything; he was God in human flesh a sinless Innocent young man 33 yrs of age. He saw the soldiers coming for him with spears and swords,then dragging him off,He stood before caphias the high priest. He was  blind folded and punch from every side, mocking him as they pull handful of beard from his face while they spit on him making him a public shame. They laughingly said prophesy who punched you. His face all swollen, battered and bruised covered with blood and spit, they  drag him off to pilot. They told him that Jesus said he was the King of the Jew; there he stood all night while they hurled questions at him but still they couldn't find any just cause to kill him. "Jesus the only begotten Son of God". But to satisfy the people pilot said just flog him and let him go.

Swollen and  bloody  they rip his clothes off, and tie him to a whipping post. All night they were making this fearsome looking whip it was made of thick leather strips plaided together with nine or more tales, on the end of each tales was fix with broken glass or metal of some kind. But whatever it was the purpose was to rip the flesh form his body with every blow. Because they claim that he said he was the King of the Jews they decided to give him a crown. He saw those thorns a inch or more in length braided together to make a circle and with no compassion for his swore aching body they shove that horrible crown of thorn upon his head ( the head of our Lord and Savior). Still tied to the post they whip him to the point of death. While there on his face in the garden he prayed father if it be thy will let this cup past from me but if there is no other way then let your will be done. He came back and found his disciple sound a sleep Jesus said to peter would you not watch with me for one hour?then he went back to pray a second time. But  what he saw this time was worst than the first. Tied there to the post he fainted when he regain  consciousness he saw a big old  rugged cross beside him; the people were shouting crucify  him crucify him. Bleeding form every part of his body they untied and order him to pick up the cross and carry it. The way they went was along the Viadelarosa and up a steep hill to a place call mount Calvary. because he had lost so much blood he became weak and couldn't go up the  hill so they whip him some more.

He came back from praying and found the disciple asleep again  so he said go on and take your rest for the time is at hand. He left them for the third time and went back to pray; that's when he saw Simon a young African man who was told  to carry the cross the rest of the way.Upon reaching the spot Simon put the cross down. What he saw next is very hard to describe.

There were three big rusty nails and a very heavy hammer and after ripping off the robe they put on him, they shove him down on the cross face up; stretch his hand out side ways and nailed them  to the cross. Then they scratch out his feet and nailed then one on top of the other to the cross the pain was excruciating. There was a big hole in the ground and the cross was hoisted up with Jesus the Lamb of God nail to it and dropped  down in the hole with a vengeance. Every joints was dislocated; and with the cruel crown of  thorn  on his head it seemed like the end. But there was six more hours to go.

 It was mid day but it became as dark as midnight there was lightning and thunder, rain and earthquake, and the vale of the temple was riped from top to bottom; he saw the crowd all around him some were weeping and some here mocking and others could not understand what was going  on or why; in all that  agony and pain, Jesus turn his eyes to heaven and cried Father forgive them for they know what they do. After five an half hours he said he was thirst they gave him vinegar to drink but he refuse it. Then he saw the soldiers took a spare and stuck it in his side thats when he cried out my GOD my GOD why has thou forsaken me. With blood and sweat running down his face he came back to his disciple; sleep on now he said; and then it happened; the torches in the distance the soldiers and the noise just as he saw it in the garden of Gethsemane.
