Ohaiyo!  Genki deska?

My name is Keiko A. Hatsanura.  I am 12 years old.  I live with my family in Los Angeles, California.  I moved here when I was eight; have lived here for four years.  Before then I lived in Japan, but then my parents got tranferred because of their jobs, and so we moved here to America.

I am getting used to it slowly, but English still is rather hard (and confusing) for me.  I am getting better at it, but I have to practice and speak slowly, so I don't make mistakes.

I have two brothers: Yakiyo and Kazuhiko.  They are older than me: 14 and 16.  I have a sister, Michiko, who is six.  She's the baby of the family.  We also have a Japanese Chin named Bonsai.  

Father is an accountant; as for Mother, she works on computers.  Both are very smart.  So are my sister and my brothers.  Me, I am just average.  

I am in the fifth grade.  I am in the Special Needs class.  I am still behind most kids my age, so this is why I am here, so I can catch up.  My teacher is very patient with me, which I appreciate.

I like to do many things: sing, dance, paint, origami, draw, go to the mall with my family, play with my dog, talk on the phone, watch television (I watch the manga cartoons; a lot of the American shows are too confusing or too fast), and play with my friends from school.  My best friend is Kimi Tanaka.  She is Japanese like me, so she and I have a lot in common.  Only she was born in America.  Her parents came and then had her.  So she's known English all her life, but she speaks/understands Japanese as well.

Well, I am going to have supper, so I will go.  I will write more in here another day.  Have to practice my English.  Writing will help me.  Until later, take care!  This is Keiko saying sayonara!
