We have the sweetest little dog that we could have ever wanted.

Her name is Keiko (Kay-Koh).  She is a Japanese Chin.

They look similar to Pekingese, but, personally, I think she is much cuter.  Keiko is two years old, just barely out of puppyhood.  She is a very active, happy little dog.  She is perfect, because she is small and well behaved.  We live in an large apartment complex.  It has a big back yard, so there's plenty of room for her to romp around and play.

We have a cat, a silver Persian named "Miss Diva", but she keeps more to herself and doesn't really like Keiko.  Whenever she sees Keiko, she furs out (as if she isn't already furry enough as it is) and hisses for all her worth, sometimes smacking the hapless little dog with a lightning-quick paw.

Keiko knows to stay away from Miss Diva, but sometimes she forgets and tries to make friends with her anyway.  It is the funniest thing!

I have had Keiko since she was a tiny eight-week-old pup.  She brings me much laughter and joy.  She was a gift from my husband, Jim, before he got sick and died.

Every time I see her, I think of Jim and how much I miss him.  Keiko understands my moods:  whenever she sees me grieving or crying over Jim, she will jump into my lap and lick the tears away.  

She is very good at making me feel better.

My daughters, Silver and Autumn, and their families come over just about every Sunday after church and spend time with me and my furry babies.  The grandkids love Keiko and Miss Diva nearly as much as I do.  They love to play with them and take Keiko out for walks (under supervision, of course). 

They look forward to "Keiko-time," as they call it.  Miss Diva feels kind of put out.  Wonder if that's why she's so grouchy?  Jealous, perhaps?

They have plenty of "time with NeeNee".  My daughters and I make sure of that.
