If I had known that having kids was this fun, I would have probably adopted sooner.  Even with all the hassles and uncertainty that go with the process of adoption, I would do it again if I had the chance.  Now it's gotten to the point to where I can't imagine my life without my son or my daughter.

My daughter's name is Brenna.  She is ten years old, the oldest child.  She lets Ethan (her brother) know that too.  She is a Mini-Mommy.  She looks out for him nearly as well as my wife does (and does a very good job at it, too!).  We adopted Brenna Nguyen Tho from Veitnam when she was just two; she's been with us for eight.  She has grown up into a beautiful young lady who will probably be tall and willowy in build.  Brenna is extremely smart and just completed fifth grade.

Our son's name is Wyatt Nathaniel.  We adopted him last year from Haiti.  He is three years old and is as shy as Brenna is extroverted.  He finds it hard to make friends or new acquaintances because he is disabled (mental disabilities) and has a rather pronounced lisp.  Other than that he's fine, but sometimes the neighborhood kids tease him, which makes Brenna mad.  She is more than ready to defend Wyatt at a moment's notice.

My wife is thrilled (as am I).  We both find being parents to Wyatt and Brenna extremely rewarding.  We feel blessed by God in allowing Brenna and Wyatt to come into our lives.  Life has been nothing but a grand, neverending adventure!

We may end up adopting yet another child, but we want to wait at least another year, until our son can get used to being here in America: everything is still so new and overwhelming to this little three-year-old boy.  We want  him to adjust and learn to fit in.  We will do everything possible to help our boy.

As for Brenna, she has since morphed into the All American Kid.  She plays sports (soccer and softball are her favorites), takes dance and voice lessons, takes science classes at the local college university (they have a summer program for kids once a week; she loves it!), and enjoys doing many activities.  Brenna is extremely active.

People obviously ask questions whenever they see Brenna and Wyatt with us, but we try to answer each as openly and honestly as we can.  We enjoy telling others our adoption story regarding Brenna and Wyatt. We feel truly privileged to be their Mommy and Daddy and we plan on giving the kids the best life that we possibly can.
