As the raft continued after the mermaids they saw the boys and Jim continued their adventure on the water as it pushed them further downstream then Tom thought it would, at least they survived it long enough for Jim to play his banjo he carried with him and Huck finally had time to eat .
 

Then as they had a lull in their adventure the raft suddenly turn  they saw that the water was more calming ahead of them . Jim noticed on both sides of the water it was more land open areas then trees and more houses one saw too . ' Maybe Williough is ahead of us ,it was where Rebecca was originally from,' smiled Huck as he thought of the farm girl they left behind .
 

Suddenly Tom then  turn but he fell over as he was picking up something to eat but trip, Huck and Jim tried helping him but it was to late the water was beginning to get rough again and Tom was pull away from them .He screamed but that didn't help him against the rough waters he was in now and he tried to swim back to the raft but the raft was being in the other direction as well, all three were helpless .

' I'll be alright,' Tom reassured Huck .
