' Damn I never then in my life  thought we then had too see one of them as President,' commented Archie Bunker who even after losing his wife,his daughter leaving and marrying someone else even after leaving her original husband Micheal, Archie now twenty years later sat in the same house he had been living in . And Archie never changed just everything around him did and he knew that but why changed he lost most everything in this house,his daughter moved away,his wife died here and he was alone except for his friends at the bar he had .
 

' Times change then Archie,' said his friend Barney from the bar as they were watching the election on Archie's tv he still had when he first moved in,in fact and everything was the same here then except Archie did give in and buy a cell phone and a laptop computer but still his house was the same .

' That is everything changes but you Archie,give in  and he wouldn't be President someone else would be and you then  still be complaining . ' his friend told him,sipping a can of beer as they watched the results come in . And they did talking about the past,his wife then  Edith and how everything seemed faster because of technology and computers and the internet .

Archie then even had remembered Edith,Gloria and even Micheal but it was this house he bought that he remembered fondly of, Edith died upstairs Gloria and Micheal lived here for a time he then knew that but he went on living to he had too . His name was Archie Bunker and not even time would win over him .

' I was then too happy when Nixon was President you know Barney I was happy once although I never showed it , '  corrected Archie,' I then was happy when Edith was alive,and damn I even missed  her Barney ,she was everything to me but I was stubborn old mule back then .' He cried and Barney shook his head . Barney knew Archie all to well ,all to well indeed .
 

' You still are then Archie,you then too still are, Archie .'  But Archie knew he was right and for once he agreed the bar the house even Barney reminded Archie of those easier times but compared too today maybe they were not so simple at all ; Archie stood looking around the house the tv and even at his friend Barney and he smiled .He was right .  

'  Your right of course then  times changing the world pass me by and I'm an old stubborn mule ,I can't even leave this house because it reminds me of Edith too much,the neighborhood even got better housing for some blasted computers everywhere,your right Barney .'  Barney then  said nothing finished his beer and left closing the door behind him as he saw Archie standing there started crying,but who could blame in  ,but who could blame him ? thought Barney .
