Both of us could not believe then what we saw with the other children was another child but this one taller and older,but something was wrong his face and head had a hood over it and only two holes made where his eyes were suppose to be at .

I was rather then  scared and shock to see him,he look like the Elephant Man,hidesous but the other children were not scared by him .They seemed rather takng to him, as if he were the leader.I wanted to then turned  and go back but my sister grab my arm and told me to stay that we come to far already now to go back, I nodded being six years old she indeed was smart too. He came up to us as the other children stayed close to him.

' This is Derrin,' said a young boy,then the  one me and my sister first saw along with the young girl,' He might look different but hes smart he's kept us alive while the grown ups all fled ,or died from the acid.'

' Hello,' he  said,' Before we let yoy go any further are you friend or foe, what is your presence in our city here for ? ' he ask his voice was deep and one you paid attention to when he spoke,like an adult .but I stood my ground always watching my sister .making sure she was o.k. now I took a deep breath .

' We come from a nearby city,its then been ruin by acid and grown ups,we been lock up for days in shelters we snuck out to get some air,we in fact never venture this far,we were looking for food and water ,We our friends .' He looked at us and nodded .

' We will help you then ,but you only stay as long as we get you food and water that you need then you must promiseyou will leave with no harm done to anyone,' he told us .He told us he could tell who was a friend or who was an enemy ,he sense it .

' No harm done,' I agreed .
