My name is Zimbabwe Rafiki Jones.  I am 11 years old. 

I live with my family in Corpus Christi, Texas.  I was born in San Antonio, but we moved to Corpus when I was eight; we moved to get away from the crime.  (We lived in a bad section of town.)

I have a brother (Zaire, 9)  and two sisters (Zora, 7, and Zina, 5).  Our grandma also lives with us.  She moved in with us after her husband (my grandfather) died two years ago.

I am in the fifth grade.  I like school, but I can't stand the bullying that goes on.  I am picked on because I am short for my age and also have hearing problems.  I was born with 'em; I wear hearing aids to help me hear better.

When I grow up I want to be a preacher like my Uncle Roderick.  He preaches at the church we attend; we go to Corpus Christi First Baptist Church; we go every Sunday and Wednesday.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was seven, four years ago.  My life hasn't been the same since.  I cannot imagine my life without Him; Jesus has gotten me through some awful times (such as being bullied at school, grandpa's death two years ago, and when my mom had cancer; thank God she's now in remission!).

Well, I hate to run, but my younger brother Zaire wants to do his homework; we only have one computer.  Maybe I can ask Mom to see if I can get one for my birthday, which is on March 15th; that would be so awesome!  Take care and may God bless you always!
