     original,neat title huh?
all I could think of don't
write to many war stories

' At ease troop,' said the Colonel who for the reason unknown
will be called the Colonel only ,' We have a break in the action,
the enemy has retreated for now ,but be on guard .'

Captain Andrews step forward and tooked a deep breath,' Do you
think its only a matter of time now, Colonel?' he asked . Then the
Colonel looked away as if watching something off in the distantce
he smiled, yes they were retreating, but for how long ?

Suddenly Corp. Sandy Sharp came hurrying up to the Colonel and
handed him a note,he read from it ,' Alright, attention troop,I have
here a report which states the enemy wants a prisoner exchange
but with a stipulation that in so doing there be a truce with it .'

He saw some of his men wanted too cheer but they all knew that in
war nothing is final or foregone, everything is heresay until evidence
says otherwise . ' I need two people too escort the prisoners over to
the other side and return, I won't say there isn't any danger because
there is,knowing this enemy as we all do, it could easily be a trap,in
fact I wouldn't let no one go unless it could actually end this bloody
war that should never had started to begin with .'

Captain Daniel Andrews step forward and held his hand up,' I'll go,
I have no family no friends back home who miss me ,you have one
volunteer Colonel.' Andrews looked at the rest of the troop waiting
for someone else too volunteer too, Lieutenant Rachel Tamrs step
forward .

' I know what your thinking Captain, I  have a husband and son in
fact back home, but this is my chance to prove to them I'd should
had been here to begin with , if its your o.k. with it Colonel ? '

Colonel stood before the two of them, nodding his approval of the
two volunteers that wanted too go,' Yes,' is all he said and then he
silently prayed for them as they got the two prisoners and started
escorting them back to the other side .

' Good luck,' everyone told them. They placed the prisoners in the
truck handcuffed and tied while Captain Andrews drove Rachel in
fact sat next too him as she continued too watch the prisoners as
the Captain drove,it was erriely quiet as they drove, the ground was
in fact rough almost barren if it weren't for bodies laid across it the
smell of gunfire and smoke . Rachel closed her eyes momentarily ,
something she shouldn't had done, because even for an instant any-
thing could happen, she missed her life back home but she wanted
this, she wanted this more then anything .

Sometimes while sleeping she had nightmares but never told anyone
not even the priest they had ,she needed to be tough, almost as tough
as the others were even, but she knew that . That was why she join .

But she knew no one could really get use to death no one .War was
in fact as an old saying went, hell, and if hell was indeed where those
sinners went after they died , war was just a step closer too it  .

And she always had planned on going up instead of down .

Too Rachel serving in war was the right thing to do.Although that too
killing  was  wrong or a sin against God,protecting others wasn't . In
fact she knew it was and she did everything she could to help .

Rachel hated violence but she fought to save her country. She hated
guns but she used them to protect her land . Rachel was a fighter .

Even now as Captain Andrews drove the truck to the other side she
sat her eyes on the prisoners but her thoughts on ahead of them,in
fact her thoughts focussed on how they were going to do the prisoner
exchange,Rachel smiled to Captain Andrews reassuring him that too
everything would go alright, the prisoners would be return and they to
would come back, without anyone getting hurt .

The prisoners themselves were subdued and indeed Rachel thankgod
for that, she knew how to fight then  even defend herself as well as then
anyone did . And she would not stand down from anyone .

She was not a coward .
