Mom has always been a pillar of strength, ever since I have been a child. Now that Mom has MS, it seems that that strength has only multiplied.
Mom has been through so much in the past several years: therapy sessions, countless doctor's appointments, even some stays in the hospital, but somehow, through it all, Mom has not lost that dazzling smile or her positive outlook on life.
The strength that Mom shows in each ordeal has been nothing short of miraculous.
It does hurt me deeply whenever Mom is sick or in the hospital, or whenever I see her trying to struggle to walk between her crutches or fighting with her wheelchair, but Mom always assures me that things will be fine. They usually are.
I don't know what the future is going to hold for my mother, but one thing IS certain: if she continues to have that attitude, she just may beat the odds and surprise people (and me, especially) even more!
