To Mr. Barack Obama, President of the United States
Mr. President Barack Obama, I read in the Israeli news that you intend to make a speech to the Israeli students and you have selectively invited students from a few universities, instead of spreading the invitations to ALL universities.
Furthermore, you selected not to speak to the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) which represents the entire country, as it is customary for head of states to do. This is an insult to the entire Jewish population in the world. We remember that when you went to Cairo, you ignored President Mubarak and went straight to the Muslim Brotherhood, after your speech at the university. I wonder who is your political advisor, who lets you commit such diplomatic errors, first in Egypt and now in Israel.
When Netanyahu visited Washington, he spoke to the Senate and to the House of Representatives, paying respect to the entire American nation.
You already divided the US population between blacks and Hispanics, the poor, the rich, the parties, etc. You are not a unifier!
Now you are visiting Israel with the same approach. This is not appropriate. By making a selection between the right, the center, the left, the Arabs, the Jews, the Religious, you upset the student unions and the young generation.
Your speech in Cairo divided the Egyptians and lead to chaos, until now. This is wrong. Don’t disappoint the Jewish people. They have enough problems on their hands.
As a 82-year-old, I feel the obligation to kindly ask you, to please reconsider your decision.
