Dear Journal~
Today is a beautiful day here in Music City: temps in the eighties with patchy conditions. Rather humid though, but that's okay. Compared to what it will probably be later this summer, I'll gladly take any cooler temperatures we can possibly get!
I am off today from work; have been puttering around in my flower beds and in the garden; everything's coming up nicely. Right now, though, I am sitting by the pool, watching the children frolicking around in the water; they are having a ball! Their last day of school was yesterday; summer vacation has already started! Bill and my parents are helping me with the children, so don't think even for a minute that nobody is watching them because someone always IS!
Things have been well for us. No unexpected sickness or trips to the ER; I am praying with all my heart that this continues!
Johnathon, his wife, and their two caregivers are leaving for Norman, Oklahoma, this weekend, so Johnny can get registered for college at OU. They may end up going chasing this weekend; they are calling for possible severe weather in Oklahoma, so they may very well have their work cut out for them. I am praying with all my heart that they don't run into trouble and that they keep safe! Those big storms scare the WOO!! out of me!!
I will be keeping in constant contact with Johnny and Rebekka, to make sure they listen to me. LOL A mama has got to worry for her children!
Ronee' got a job at a doctor's office, where she is going to be a receptionist, answering the phones. She starts on Monday. She is really looking forward to it. That ought to bring in some fairly good money; they need it to get ready for their twins. Yes, TWINS. Both boys! And Rebekka, she is carrying twins, too, both boys. So four grandsons will be in our future!
The other children are doing well. Jodie will be having surgery on her feet; they are starting to twist inward again, causing her pain, but other than that, she has been fine. She will be having the surgery done in August. That was the earliest they could schedule it. Hard to believe that she has graduated high school; she doesn't look any older than 9 or 10! She's still so tiny and so cute!!
Todd does have a respiratory infection; he's been coughing and wheezing a lot, even with the oxygen. We will have to keep a close eye on him, to make sure it doesn't turn into pneumonia. Just say some prayers on his (and our) behalf; we would all greatly appreciate it! I'm just praying the other kids don't catch it; the last thing we need this summer is a whole houseful of sick kids!!
Work has been going well for me: working lots of extra hours, mainly in my two favorite haunts: the MICU or the ER. Did do some time in Orthopedics, where I haven't worked in a very long time. I hope I do more stints in the Orthopedic ward soon! Compared to the frenetic pace in the ER or in MICU, I could use some quietness! LOL
Bill has been made the head of security at his job at Wal*Mart; he's gotten a fairly nice wage, too, whcih will help out when those extra medical bills start to roll in! Yet even with all the bills we have, God always provides for every one of our needs! He's always been faithful!
My sister in Burleson, Texas, had a close call the other night: they had some nasty tornadoes in Texas (including an EF-4 just west of the DFW metroplex, where she lives, and an EF-3 just south of Burleson); she is okay, but many folks in Granbury and Cleburne had damage and six lives were lost (and seven people yet unaccounted for). She said they had an amazing lightning show. I'm just glad she is okay; it could have very easily been a lot worse ....
Well, I'd best get back to the kiddos and make sure no mischef breaks out! LOL I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Louie Sandusky saying God bless; I'll be back another day!
