Breavery Isaiah Thomas is the love of my life. I simply cannot imagine my world without him.
Breavery is six years old. He also has special needs. He has an autism spectrum disorder. He has trouble relating to others and because of this he seems slower than most kids his age. He has problems with following directions and has to have things done in a specific order, or else Breavery will have a meltdown, where kicking and screaming are the norm for him.
It is never fun whenever this happens.
When Breavery was diagnosed with autism at the age of 20 months, I felt any and all dreams I had for him had vanished. It was the worst possible news I could have ever gotten; yet I was determined to help my son in any way possible, to help him succeed.
I believe I have done exactly that. Thanks to my persistence (and therapy sessions), Breavery Isaiah Thomas has emerged from his self-contained shell and has begun to reach out in tentative ways. While he may never be a famous public speaker or a preacher, Breavery has proven to be quite smart and has shown a God-given talent in singing. He absolutely loves to sing and wants to be a singer when he grows up.
I will do all I can to make that dream happen. It won't be easy, but I WILL fight for my son and his right to do whatever he wants to do in life. Breavery is my biggest blessing, and I am more than proud to be his mother!
Karen, this has the ring of truth. As the mother of a child with a minor case of autism I know how hard dealing with the symptoms and explosions that go with it. I hope this isn't true for you, but just in case I will hold you in my prayers.
Timeless wisdom and advice on the art of living for today’s young and old: The art of thinking, the art of loving, the art of working, the art of leadership, the art of growing old.

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
