I have a secret history, don''t you?  The secret history I have to write about is the Queen of the South, Charlotte, NC in the 12/12/12 year.   The primodorial vision I have of Charlotte is from the banks of the Catawba River at dusk on a Friday.  When I was attending St. Thomas, the Apostle Grade School in South Minneapolis I learned a special form of cryptography, Lemmon Writing.  I would write messages with Lemmon juice.  Then I would let the juice dry and later hold the paper over a heat source to bring the writings back into view in a darker readable color.   My invitation to you is to invoke the muse of history and Lemmon write or frame the 2012 convention  in Charlotte.  Then re-invent your self in a new personal framing in new colors.  The Catawba River is. Hades/Lethe neumonic device for this history.  Make an invention of the city of Charlotte, for example, change its corporate relationship with one of its adjacent communities. Let Charlotte learn like running water.

 

    The conjunction/non conjunction point of reference in Charlotte is my business address 401 Hawthorne Ln Suite 110 PMB 129 Charlotte, NC 28204.  It is Elizabeth Town Mall. Like Proteus we are not one but many alone together forever.

     Methodology:  A Dream within a Dream and a Homeric Simile.  The universe is God''s dream. Place your own dreams within this larger dream.  Then turn this dream relationship into a Homeric simile.  Try to figure the outlines of God''s dream by reading scripture then AS you read the scripture relate this relationship to your Odysseus or convention travels.

 

     How can you turn Charlotte, NC into a thought style? Think of displaced links and associations in your life and reference them to this framed event.  Build memory links and files to the convention.  Write your childhood history against this framed event and corner in colored ink.  Write an assessment of your personality.  Think of your early childhood primordial memorial and self.  Charlotte is a woman''s name and the name of a French flower.   Are you manic/depressive or a personality disorder?  Pull B.B. King Blues rifts and turn Charlotte into your personality Bluesville.  What is your personal language of secrets?  Your mind has intention and direction.   Clarify these ideas in writing, art and photo.  Then, try to speak in new tongues.   Encode these new tongues in a new computer language.   Make a montage art gallery out of these new codes and languages.  Lemmon write on these images and make a collage against the city of Charlotte.  Turn these Lemmon written histories into a secret history of Charlotte 2012.

       At the Jefferson/Jackson Day dinner a thought broadcasting Southern Gothic voice spoke out to me during Joe Biden''s son''s off the cuff remarks. Obama has no son.  Absalom, Absalom, I-we are his sons.  Claim the birthright of the South. Repeat after me.  We are Obama''s sons.  My house rises and falls heaven like the South. Heaven like Charlotte  is a common bed! Absalom/Obama,

 

     Think of class and historical determinates in your life for example middle class and family genealogies.  Then read the story of the Aeneas where the Romance ends with Dido and Aeneas leaves Carthage to found Rome.  What happens to Dido in the Aeneas? Turn this Lemmon Writing history exercise into a re-founding of Charlotte.  Re-invent your personal and family history against the 2012 DFL convention in Charlotte.  Change the context in your own life out of Charlotte.  Bi-locate this new context to your city and neighborhood.  Make an invention out of this process.  For example, write up a new corporate relationship between your town and a neighboring village. Fund a charity, political group, or environmental group in this new town and village relationship.  Relate prices indexes to this changed relationship.  Finance this invention/dream.  Build a Florence/Charlotte enterprise in this new construct.  New financial inventions frame the skyline of  Charlotte, the Bank expanded into a holding company explains the skyline.

     Charlotte, city and muse, from the rail tracks on Davison  looking into the wind I see your skyline like the visions of Cleopatra and Hellen of Troy  from level two of Dante''s inferno, in Limbo.  Your skyline and rail tracks are an invitation for me to fight fate and beauty from Limbo.

 

     Preface to the 2012 convention:  Andy  Griffith of Mayberry NC died suddenly.  Andy was a product of the South which he tried to escape through comedy and classism but never could. The Andy Griffth Show and Matlock would probably not be syndicated today. This is the strengths of these shows not their weakness.  Andy Griffith was a liberal democrat when America was still a liberal country.  Andy Griffth took white Southern stereotypes and pushed them to the edge.  Who glorified barbers and hicks and transformed the culture with them.  People love losers.  Andy Griffth turned Americas good old days actually worst American economic scene into a good or grat scene.  His shows are financial inventions like the New Banking Skyline of Charlotte, NC.  Head out to the pond with Opie and discover why Charlotte is a new joint.

 

     Travis Smiley''s,  America,is in Charlotte for the 2012 Convention:  Take Afro-American history and build it into the larger American narrative including your own narrative and your own family''s history. What are the artifacts of this history both positive and negative like music boxes and runaways.  My mother''s father had a brother who ran way and never returned.   Take the America I Am theme and replace the I with We the People.  Make the Afro-American history a comparative narrative.  For example, settlers could never make native American Indians slaves.  Why.  Answer the Irish Questions in relation to the We the people theme.  Is Charlotte a Sullivan''s Island within islands? Ask yourself this question?  Are you a slave to passion, for example drugs or alcohol or sex addiction.  Who bears responsibility for this addition or slavery.  Slavery was outlawed in 1808.  Pornography was legalized in 1957.  Make a comparative and personal history narrative.  The slaves were free in America before the serfs were freed in many Eastern European countries and Russia.  The word Slav relates to the word slave.  Develop a comparative narrative out of these relationships.  How would you annoint the Irish narrative in Barbadoes  relate the Ellis Island point of entry to the Sullivan''s Island point of entry.  911 sits on the site of a former slave trading area in Manhattan.  Relate the 911 tragedy to Willie Lee Roses''s, Rehersal for Reconstruction where the skaves burn the symbols of their oppression the Mills and plantations to the ground.  Purge unwanted relationships in your life in a similar manor.  The Black 400 is anAmerican classic.  How do you explain how 400 major leaders came out of a small area in the South during the civil war. ask yourself why hasn''t this happened in my own community, for example, Anoka, Mn.  The door is a sexual psychoanalytic image.  Ask yourself how you can open and close doors in your life.  Relate these doors to the prison doors in the Civil Rights movement.  Make connections to the Yoruba people''s in Cuba an Indian name and the Ashanti people''s  in Brazil.  Relate this connections to the mystical body Epistle of St. Paul.  Make clothing innovations and ragdolls part of your stories artifacts.  Malcolm X is an assumed name like Mark Twain.  Does your family have a benefit names like Johnson or Anderson.   Who carries the assumed names in your family.  What is Congressman''s Keith Ellison'' Muslim name? Relate this name to the characters is in Ralph Ellision''s, the Invisible Man. Ask yourself am I an invisible person? Why. There was a great amount of suffering in the peculiar institution.  

 

     Two quartets in Island history:  Charlotte looks like a hive or island from the air.  David Noble, Historians Against History, and Allen Tate, I''ll Take My Stand, are diving rods in Southern history.  The class structure of Charlotte is a tossed salad. The power mapping of Charlotte is islands within this tossed salad moving slowly towards a new Southern word salad.  The thirst of David Noble and Allen Tate is the thirst of Christ in a new garden of Eden.  The islands in the sun with in Charlotte are crying out Absalom, Absalom, my son, my son.  The islands cannot hold the center.  The seeds of Faulkners Absalom, Absalom, fall upon a red soil in anarchy.  The Catawba River or juice of the South makes the flower, Charlotte, bloom.  The diving rods  of the two Southern historians are hard to hold high.  The quartets these soulful  historians sing are the quartets of the Dead. Why do the seek the living among the dead?  They want to fly like a bumble bee or butterfly high over Charlottee.  Like butterflies they what to cocoon.   The thread they desire to thread from their Boolean cocoons is the woof and warp of a new tapestry of history/her story.  It is the Obama cloak of inclusive history.  Drink deep the Cataba juice. Pick up the diving rod.  Start on new whirling dervish dance slowly with flowing cloaks and the songs of blessed and gentleness for your new quartets.  A Black man is president of the United States.  I dream of Catawba Rivers.  History is water, flesh and blood. Michelle Obama''s family came out of Anderson, SC.   Flannery O''Connor came out of Milledgeville.  Anderson and Andersonville are my black Irish crosses.

 

     Dovetail themes from Charlotte''s history into your narrative.  For example, the New South is  landscape theme as Charlotte went from cotton fields to skyscrapers from horse and buggy to NASCAR.  What has been your story from Emancipation to civil rights? Do you have a pilot''s license?  The first courthouse was at the corner of Trade and Tyron Streets.  Cornwallis marched on the Hornet''s nest, Charlotte, during the American Revolution.  The Halifax Resolves were draw up in Charlotte for the Continental Congress creating new principles of government for a Newman in a New world.   Draw up your own set of principles.  Children in America still bear a property definition. How would you change this definition!  Micklen burg County sent 21 companies to the civil war.  Was the civil war a lost cause?  Reconstruction created the public schools.  Why did Reconstruction fail? Black Churches were run by Black people.  Is white dominion over in America? Are you a Black Methodist.   The rebel South never voted for the Thirteenth Amendment which was opposed by many Northern politicians. 

     Populism and Progressivism spawned The Progressive Farmer newspaper.  What explains the demise of populism and Progressivism? The railroad and the textile factory. What was the reason for the Great Migration of Blacks to the North? The Canon Company made home goods.  When did the word Cannon cosmopolitanism become a part of Charlotte''s history? Billy Graham came out of Charlotte born of a deer mother, like Sadb.  I, Patrick, a Blue Grass boy of 65 years,  came to this historical awakening while traveling along Monroe avenue an Irish Main Street to Central Ave where Billy Graham had his religious awakening.  This is the South''s Mind.  Put the Who, You, into this mind. 

 

     The main flower, family, food  and gardening festival in Dublin in Phoenix Park  is called Bloom.  The name Charlotte relates to a French flower and a German queen. This easy pieces ends with an invitation to the Obama''s to join the Fianna, Ireland''s elite warriors and like Sadb, the enchanted deer mother of Oisin, fight for justice for all people''s against corporate and government corruption.   Bloom means to heed Washington''s command from the grave.
