A Christmas story in poetic form.

It was a cold winter night

Everyone was in bed snug tight

Suddenly I heard a loud noise

I thought it must be the wind

                                          Blowing through the trees

                                            But the noise got louder

I pulled the covers over my head

Being a bit frightened but not really scared.

                                   Then suddenly the noise stopped

I got up and dashed to the door

There was nothing to be seen.

                               I thought, "Since I'm up I'll grab a snack."

As I began to eat, I heard the noise again

                                        Jingle, jingle, the noise went.

I went back to the door

But before I could open it, I was knocked to the floor.

I looked up, and strange as it may seem

A jolly old gent stared at me

He asked me why I wasn't in bed

I could think of nothing, so I scratched my head.

                                             Astonished by my silence

He began to laugh and laugh and laugh.

Soon he convinced me to go off to bed.

The next morning I awoke looking to find the old gent

But he was nowhere to be found

Instead I found stockings filled with candy and fruit

Toys that I had longed for

                                                   And a card that read

                                       "Remember, Jesus is the reason."
