For about a year I wanted a pet
it happened that during my fight
with cancer I almost gave up, then
as I was in my hospital bedI heard
a knock at my door,as it opened I
saw my son came in, he was then
carrying something, a bowl ,a glass
bowl.Inside it was a fish, a gold fish .

' The doctors wouldn't let me bring
anything bigger then that in, hope to
you don't mind .'

' I loved it.'
 

' Can't stay long,rules you know ,in
fact I'm late,dad's taking me then to
school ,he'll come and see you right
after.'
 

I smiled and nodded the best I could
do coughing as he left,good son he
never missed a day in school akways
behaved too. Now I looked at my new
goldfish and tried to smile,that was in
fact almost funny look like the goldfish
smiled at me,that was impossible . Or
was it ? 

After the father drop his son off he was
indeed going back to see his wife though
he never made it a schoolbus collided in
fact with him, and now since he was too
judged not worthy to enter Heaven,his own
soul was giving another chance his soul to
inhabited the goldfish. 

Thats why he smiled.

' Can you reach me dear,' said the goldfish
he told her put the bowl next to her,' Now in
fact you don't go half crazy on me let me try
and explain whats going on.'

' Try before I call a nurse .'

' You see right now the bus driver is getting
life, and don't worry about our son, he thinks
this is cool that I'm a fish.' Her husband did
not say the real reason he was here,even as
a fish he couldnt tell her the truth. 

' As long as your here.'

Then as she slept a nurse cleaning her room
saw the goldfish and remembering orders of
not having any pets she flushed it down the
toilet .

' What a way to go,' said the husbanf standing
again at the pearly gates,' Now what that's twice
I died,not by my doing mind you,so is there the
third time a charm or something .'

Without saying a word this time he went back as
a fly, this time his son was there talking to her as
they were getting ready for one last treatment too.

' I'll be here mom,' he said as they took her away
her son sat near the open window and started to
read a book he took out of a school library .

Suddenly a fly landed on his book, not thinking it
could be his father,he closed the book killing his
father,once more he returned to Heaven .

But this time he shook his head,' no more let me
go to you know where,please.'

And he did,he remembered the saying, I rather
serve in Hell then .' And he was serving to all the
souls that died he would catered too them .
