Somewhere in a city much like the one you live in lived a man in his thirties,this was no ordinary man this was a family man, a man that worked for the city he lived in, a firefighter who risk his life to save others,right now that was what he was doing putting out another fire in the city that he lived in, ' More hose now,'he yelled as the fire suddenly flamed up and was spreading more.It was an old building already being made too
be torn down, suddenly then a flame then reached him, his face as it burn his entire face. Other firefighters came to help him and medics there to.
Later it was reported that they saved the building two firefighters died though and one laid critically in the hospital. ' Where is everyone,help me .' He could not see bandages were wrapped around his eyes they were burned by
the fire that he tried to put out.' It's o.k. sir I'm Dr Westward,' her voice then sounded nice and soft but seasoned though,'she stood holding a clipboard and studying him. ' We're waiting to see if your sight returns on its own ,giving you a forty eight hour window.' He shook his head trying to sound like he cared or not.' What if it doesn't,doctor? ' She touched his bandages,' Then you have a decision to make,right now as far as our knowledge goes and what we know we can replace eyes,but they will not be yours be the eyes of a total stranger inside you,but you'll be able to see again.' How long is that window?'he asked touching her hand.' Up to fifty hours you have before you lose total blindness.' She turned leaving the patient time to think, to be able to see again but at what cost to someone else's life?
Her leaving left Dr Shaw exhausted then after such then a meeting with patients like that,now on to the real matter,to tell the donor who was giving up her eyesight so that this firefighter could live. But was that right? Was then it right that another person giving up a part of themselves so someone else could live on, why? Was a firefighter's life more important then a doctor's life or a lawyer or the mayor of the city,why was this young lady offering her sight to help the firefighter because when her father was alive he was a police officer and he was caught in a burning house fire trying to save his son,her brother,but he nearly didn't make it until the firefighters came by to help,this same firefighter that lost his sight save her dad and brother whe she heard what happened she wanted to help, it was her choice no one elses,but would you?could you ? Offer your life to save another?
In fifty hours the blind firefighter had that one choice to make too. to be continued .
