Soon after dinner like most guys do, I sat on the couch and reached for my remote control to turn on the TV. Just then, the phone rang. I glanced over but did not recognize the caller, so I hesitated for a moment but picked up the phone anyway. The person at the other end immediately said: "Is that Herman ......?" Upon my response in the affirmative, to my surprise she introduced herself as the director of procurement at a Texas charter school.  I said: "O-k-a-y!"

She then proceeded to inform me that  their library team had decided to purchase a dozen copies of my autobiography after reading the synapse online, they wanted their students to read about the life of children from other cultures.

Needless to say I was elated and gladly offered the director a reasonable discount which has since led to repeated purchase of many of my works by this institution.
