HMMMM…

"I have something to say," said the witch. "If I speak truly, thou must let me live. If I lie, thou mayst kill me."

The executioner laughed. "Speak, witch!"

"Verily, I say, today thou shalt kill me."

"Thou never spoke more truly!" exclaimed the executioner, and raised his axe.

"If I speaketh truth, thou canst not kill me," reminded the witch.

"Then thou doth lie!" The axe rose.

"Killeth me now, and thou hast made my lie a truth, and mayst not kill me…"

The witch smiled.

The executioner chewed his lip.

It looked like being another frustrating day.
