As a child, Christmas meant spending time at both Grandmother's houses, eating lots of candy (and some food), playing with cousins I hadn't seen in a while, and opening lots of presents. I don't remember as a child actually celebrating Jesus birth. We went to church and celebrated there, but not at home. How sad.
Today, for me, it is all about His birth. I love reading the Christmas story, (Luke 2:1-20).
I read just the other day of another town who abolished any reference to Christmas or Jesus birth. It's okay if you don't believe in Jesus or don't want to celebrate His birth. But, our nation was founded on Christian principals, and beliefs. So don't deny me the privilege of celebrating Jesus.
No matter how you feel, or who you believe in, I will continue wishing you a Merry Christmas.

at our house we start our celebration on 5 dec, as a tribute to my dutch ancestors, then celebrate 24/25 dec, and finally wind up the celebratory season on 12th nite... 6 jan
