Friendly auras attract the little birds.

The little birds

I had been walking along Cuesta de Moyano's stands and I had bought two books that hadn’t taken me much to find, of these that are essential and booksellers could not but have. I was walking with my books through Atocha's sidewalks when I saw a man my age and size of peculiar look, dressed like one would say a scarecrow of benign vibrations, with a very used green hat, tousled long hair and sandals sitting on the pavement, attentive to some little birds that had come nearer to him. He had a blue blanket at his feet with a few books on it. I had a sight at the books. I remember the variety was extraordinary. I give away my books, he said to me. Suddenly, a multitude of little birds came nearer to him, some of them stood on his shoulders, even on top of his hat. How do you manage to do that?, I asked him. He turned his face to me: Little birds are attracted by friendly auras. He was caressing the little birds. I took one of the books on the blanket and asked him if I could take it with me. He said: Of course, they are free. Take it with you. There was a bench just facing the scene and I sat down on it, keeping an eye on my friend and his little birds. I have a friendly aura too, I told him from my bench. Just then a little bird flew down to my feet and another two came to me. Did you see?, I asked him. They are coming to me on seeing I'm talking to you, I said. My friend was covered by little birds, a cloud of them. To me only two or three had come nearer with curiosity. Please, say to me how I can do to enjoy forever the power of attracting little birds. I'm envious, I said. Is it your clothes? Some little birds had already flown to my feet or to the bench..Even one of them was prying my books. The man then said: It may be my figure or my clothes. It is not a secret. They come nearer to people with friendly auras; they know if we may become a friend since they see us from the sky. I rested pensive for a moment, then stood up, said thanks and so long to the birds enchanter and started my walk back home. I looked back twice. First time there were three little birds after me. Second time they were five. There was a bench every 50 metres and I sat down on the first. Immediately seven little birds flew down at my feet. They seemed to be listening attentively to what I had to tell them by telepathy. When I had finished, I stood up and walked away with my books. I looked back again and they all seven were watching me from the pavement as I walked away, with their friendly and beautiful presence. I knew I had an aura my own, friendly no doubt. Life and books had informed me about friendly and unfriendly human people. Singing birds are on our side. I looked back one more time and they were crowded on the pavement talking about us human beings. I kept on walking but heard the sound of their flying behind me. I looked back expectantly. One of them had flewn to me and was observing me. The others had flown away. I wanted to speak with the little yellow bird, but I followed my progress again pending of sounds and movements. I heard him fly onto a branch. I looked back directly at the branch where I knew the little bird was. He was there observing me and trilling. I said good bye to him waving my books. The little bird kept looking at me as I left. I heard his good bye trill at my back. I asked myself Didn't you know you have a friendly aura? I thought about it. Yes, I knew I have, yes indeed, I am a good man, I love myself very much. I would like that birds could speak to say everyone what it means to find out friendly auras among we human beings.

A little bird food in the hand helps a lot.

The birds here are way too frightened to go near anyone. It's a shame.
