     Girl sitting alone.

Mercedes

When I saw her sitting alone on a stone bench in the Rastro the first impression I felt was of she being a woman who would make me happy and to whom no doubt I would adore. I was attracted by her way of looking, her mystery’s and adventure’s aura, and by the way she dressed. She had the look of an advantageous hippy that uses Patchouli or passes like a simple woman and at the same time in some way very clean. She might be a revolutionary companion, or of profession, or a girl friend to which one professes an enormous tenderness, with whom one can understand just with a simple glance and to whom one wishes to hug to very often.

I sat down beside her. We crossed our glances. We began to speak. I told her I had no girl friend. She made me understand she was living an indecision situation at that very instant. That was why I did not restrain my impetus, she had seduced me. She also inspired me sympathy and sympathy matters very much.

I have had towards her always the aura of tenderness that lit up what she is for me, my companion and my big girl friend. Her presence suggested to me exotic beaches, open sea, distant countries and long full moon nights lying down at a peaceful place, with a very agreeable temperature, a silence only broken by the waves in the distance, or may be a pier in a desert beach, with an abandoned wood stand which served as refuge, without anybody who dissipated the spell, a fishing boat moored in sight, and being both the target of an ecstatic moment, of big marvel; why not too, a very hot day, or not, I don’t know if very hot or cold, any day no matter although tenebrous it was it would be a good day with her, but it is understandable it would be better if hot, and day of big affluence in the Rastro of Madrid, and to glance at her fixedly and she realises it and smiles to me tenderly, and I take her hand and we walk up the street in slope, and everything is coming and going of people, many people, and everything is an amalgam of colours merging and expanding around us.

Mercedes, let's sit down here again. I like sitting here. I love to remember it was here where we met up first time. Then I suddenly had the fantasy it was me who first time we met up was sitting on the same stone bench and I had seen her going alone looking at things here and there between the stalls and that it was she who sat down beside me saying: Hello! I'm going to sit down, I'm tired. Hello, I said spellbound. A beautiful day isn't it?, she said. I took her hand and watched the ambiance on that sunny day.
