Today, at church, I learned a very important lesson in the sermon that Pastor Bilkey preached to us from the pulpit. He was talking aoubt that, no matter what we may be going through, the Lord is ALWAYS there! The Lord is ALWAYS ready to lend a Helping Hand, ready to guide us whenever we call upon His Name!
And being a Child of God (I was saved nearly 3 years ago, when I was 11; I will be 14 this year!), I was especially challenged. Pastor Bilkey also mentioned about the Book of Exodus, where Moses worshiped God, even despite any changes that was going on around him; and that because he WAS a Child of God, he and those who were with him would be protected by His Grace. And that Grace is still with us today, even despite the horrific changes that have taken place since September 11, 2001. As long as we stay focused on the Lord, He WILL protect us, and He WILL NOT let harm befall us if we call upon His Name!
After the service, we had alter call, and Lord, I tell you, the Power of the Lord was clearly evident! Seven new souls came up and those people accepted Jesus into their hearts; and the Glory came down like a rushing wind! People were being slain in the spirit, falling to the ground, left and right, by the Spirit; and I was given the Gift of Tongues. I started praising Him in a language totally unfamiliar to me, and I couldn't contain it, no matter HOW hard I tried! It was like a bubbling volcano ready to spew lava everywhere; and once it did, there was NO holding back!! It was AWESOME!! I never felt power like THAT! WOW!!
I was so excited I started to yelling, and I'm sure maman was shooting me one of her famous glares; but I didn't care! The Lord touched me in a mighty way, and it was proof that He was working on me and in my life!
And I got to thinking about the sermon; and this passage came into my head, like a bolt from the blue: "If the Lord is FOR us, then HOW can He be against us?" Perfectly tied to today's sermon! He was with Moses so long ago, and He is STILL with us today, over 2,000 years later! He is ALIVE, and He is STILL performing miracles!! :)
