Forbidden Flights, The 9th Minnesota Cuba Festival, my father’s cousin Joe Provo was on the streets of Paris near the Bastille following the WWII liberation of Paris. The woman next to Joe Provo told him her name was Monique. Joe Provo gave Monique a victory kiss and asked her to relocate to Annandale, Mn to become his pride. She consented and Monique’s daughter Gennelle  Provo became a St. Kate’s student. 

This film Forbidden Flights is an ironic love story moving from 1968 in Paris on the Seine to Cuba in poetry, philosophy, insanity and seduction. This film invites you to a new level of intimacy and reflection. The Cuban Film Institute produced this film. It features Moroccan actress Sanaa Alaouri as Monique. Paulo Fernandez Gallo as Mario. The paternity theme and Monique’s travel to Cuba to find a father she never knew. She was conceived in Cuba in 1968. Mario is a Man Monique meets at the airport on the passage to connect with her father. Think Patria! The weather problems enhance the love story. The narcissist and dominating elements of the actors meld Against the solidarity, humanitarianism and internationalism of Cuba, the love! The triangle between a woman, a man and a country provides distinct romantic bonds that are ironic and complex. The question Monique faces are unawares by fears and notions. The concrete problems are unresolved in her contradictory person. 

Rigoberto Lopez who is a Cuban director breaks down stereotypes and stereotypical thinking in the film He graduated in politics from Havana University. He is a member of the Cuban Institute for Art and the Cuban Film industry. He is a prolific director with many workshops, films and videos in events around the world.
