Paula, a middle aged lady, did experience an operation in a very well-known hospital. Afterwards, Paula received pain medication including a pain blocker. After a couple of days, she was switched over to morphine, which worked well for a short while.
Then one night, while asleep, Paula stretched out, yawned and relaxed even more. She thought, now I am relaxed. All of a sudden, she was falling backwards, without pain, down a long black tunnel. Calmly, Paula just kept falling. She turned a little for a better view. The passageway did not appear to have walls. Things appeared to darken and become slightly cool as she proceeded down the path. She did not understand what was happening or where she was headed.
Then someone did call out to Paula. She turned towards the voice, which came from behind. At the opposite end of the tunnel was a light. Then that someone called again to her and kept calling her name from the light. Paula turned and faced the light. Still hearing her name, she moved towards the voice and the light. As she moved, she experienced much peace and so she kept moving. It seemed like swimming up to a water's surface such as in a pool or lake but without the water. A brilliant light replaced the black tunnel causing it to disappear completely.
As Paula continued to climb towards the light, the path brightened. Suddenly, she reached a point where she seemed stuck. The area around her did darken rapidly. As in swimming, she used the breaststroke to push the "water" away. Paula also had tried shaking her head to come to the surface. Finally, she broke through the perceived obstacle and awakened.
Paula found her nurse, Amanda, standing at her bedside taking her pulse and pressure. Amanda exclaimed: “Oh, thank God! I have been checking your vitals and everything was dropping. I have checked them eight times. I even brought in a new machine. Your pressure, pulse and respiration continued to drop and we didn't know why.” Amanda and the on-call, ER physician conferred and had Paula’s medication changed. They then transferred Paula to ICU for monitoring where they learned of a familial sensitivity to morphine. After several days, Paula was returned to her hospital room where she did recover entirely.
Relating this story, Paula counseled her family, “If it happens to you remember, move towards the voice and the light. Tell this story to your family and friends! Always move towards the bright light!”
Some folks don't believe in God or the afterlife. This was an amazing event and would be for..many..people..After such an..awesome..occurrence in their lives, ask them to think and pray about God & the afterlife for nine days. This could yield a peaceful understanding and they may even receive a gift of faith! Laus Deo!!
