 A friend like God commands

I was with the idea around and around my head about how aberrant supposed the situation: the king Borbón being received with applause in the Deputies Congress, the king ass licker and faggot I always have known, and even cheered up at military parades by the worst people, that I was making myself a clear idea about what a lucky I had to stand in my endeavour to carry out revolutionary actions to get the Advent of the III Republic, endeavour I satisfied for the moment being buying fake guns and walking throughout Madrid streets making use of my powers and shooting up to the air in the more thronged streets and squares and encouraging people to rebel against the dummy monarch, chief of the state nothing less, and against the president of the government, another wretched. I shouted: Live Spain! Live the Republic! Live the Revolution! Live the People!

I remember the reactions on the faces of the people when I was at this was very unequal, yes it was so, although everybody yielded on my way, they left me go at ease, and I remember too, how to forget it, I realised some people looked at me with sympathy, it also happened to me when instead of shooting up in the streets I went in the streets asking for money, there were people who gave it to me with pleasure and even quite a lot. Well, the police let me do whatever I wanted to; by all the Saints I swear I knew they knew I might not do anything bad-bad at all.

Once a policeman slapped my face in a disco to take off me one of the fake guns I bought. Well, another police, a commissar this second time,  slapped my face being I manacled and in front of more than twenty civil guards pointing up at me with their machine-guns when they caught me carrying a knife beside the house of the dummy king’s father. The ones who arrested me with the knife just in front of the house were civil guards, but the one who slapped my face was a police commissar. Well, for the case being..., it doesn’t matter, slaps for a fake gun and for a knife, I lost the opportunity of shooting and giving speeches in the disco and of a coup by which I would be appointed president after killing the dummy king’s father.

I had already had an encounter some days before with the dummy Borbón king’s father in a place full of heavily armed Fuerza Nueva fascists. I had gone there accompanying Clementina, who had said to me she was in debt with some cocaine dealers and had told me not to go with her inside the place. As I was insisting, she told me they were not cocaine dealers but fascists. I let her go inside and listened. I did recognise the voice and came in. Juan de Borbón, father of the dummy king Juan Carlos was inside a big room with Fuerza Nueva’s staff and many henchmen and manipulated over a large table a big quantity of cocaine over a large table plenty of  machine-guns, guns, katanas and machetes, no one of the fascists moved, I hypnotised them and I called the major faggot of the kingdom to the father of the dummy king and said to the ones in uniform that no one of them would dare to attack me, of what for would their arms serve to them, and to Clementina not to pay him anything, that she did not owe anything to him and to take away with her anything she wanted.

Besides the much I knew about the dummy and his family; that is, that they had began a dynasty 300 years ago with a succession war, that during Borbón’s monarchy many revolutions were quenched, that there were famines, misery, poverty, I and II   Republics, a Saboya king, a Bonaparte king, civil war; at last, a breath, we needed a breath. I knew from my friend Manuel Ordaz Bruzo, between others, this anecdote: the dummy king and his father had taken his son and grandson, the pedantic child, son of prince and princess of Asturias nothing less, to a wealthy Portuguese man’s house to spend the evening at his place in exhange of money, while they, the dummy king and his father, tried first to dine à la carte in Estoril’s casino at the Portuguese expenses; Almeida must have forgotten, then they tried the menu, impossible; nothing, finally they also, with their stomachs empty, sniffed roulettes chips the Portuguese had promised to them; in the end, they had to go away after a brisk Deixem fazer jogo, while the pedantic child spent the evening, and his mother, the princess of Spain, Sofía de Grecia, waited for her dummy and her dummy father-in-law to take the twee child back from the Portuguese’s house after spending some time at the casino, and everything in exchange of money, diner at the casino and roulette chips, so the Poruguese had time to take back to her her stupid son before both starving Borbones had time to come back to pick the child up at the Portuguese’s house. How she ought to have reacted when she saw the Portuguese and her stupid son, Almeida with a handherchief on his head and her son with a vicious smile! Sofía of Greece asked him for money. Money? The child should have to pay me! had exclaimed the Portuguese leaving. Of course, Almeida had filmed everything, Manuel told me. I knew then the future prince and aspirant to the throne of Spain was a faggot child to easily oblige him to commit suicide. My friend Pilar had already told me when the twee child was prince of Asturias and his parents king and queen of Spain, that the twee child was going to die because of how handsome I was, making me laugh at it. A compliment?, I asked Pilar to go on laughing. Of course, It may not be otherwise.

And of course I knew more, I knew of what ilk were made the Borbón and the Hohenzollern, I knew I had them at my mercy. Although the start of Revolution hadn’t come yet I made speeches about that present deeds and I reminded myself always of these who had fought in the past, but on not getting much I didn’t discard the possibility of mocking the dummy king and his family on leaflets I had thought of distributing. Do we know what happened at La Zarzuela palace? A guy had gone to La Zarzuela palace and had taken out his cock in a room where he was with the dummy king and the dummy king had tried to suck him off, moment the guy took advantage of to give him two punches and a kick plain in his dummy king’s face. Later, the guy had gone to the palace’s swimming pool area and had destroyed the glass panels complete and had filmed everything he had done. Manuel had told me and I had taken it for granted. Revolution! A coup! That is what I had planned! Perhaps someone doesn’t know the state of things? There is Misery, Poverty and Exploitation. On the other side, a king who is a playboy according to journalists Luca de Tena brothers and Ansón brothers and many others who didn’t take into account the plume is visible. Do we not enjoy a common soul? I didn’t think other but in Revolution. A coup! That I had planned! Is it not enough with what we see and hear? Do our senses fool us or we do let ourselves be fooled?

The case is that the revolutionary impetus provoked in me a feverish state of mind very-very enthusiastic and a little as though I did what I liked, but the situation had been going on for more than six years and nothing had changed: There was Famine, Misery and Poverty, and the workers were not well organised. One of these days, one of the so many days of these when I had been shooting up in Madrid’s streets, I got to Plaza del Dos de Mayo; I had been there several times doing what I should; that is, shooting to the air and saying speeches, encouraging the people to rebel, but it was two at night and there was almost nobody. After the shots to the air and de rigueur Cheers I kept the gun beside the statue of the Heroes of Dos de Mayo and at once a loose German shepherd came closer to me after seeing me do what I usually did. He stayed gazing at me with tenderness and he let me caress him. When I went away he came with me along, and later he kept up by my side all the way, yes, from Plaza del Dos de Mayo to that of Legazpi, and then to my house in Almendrales, Usera, by my side. I talked to him and I know he understood; more yet, I am sure he was expecting to do too something practical, positive, for the common good. I asked him his name and by telepathy he said it was Rex. I told him Alfonso and I had met up at the same spot that we had in the Plaza del Dos de Mayo, six years ago already. I know he transmitted me.

I was tired; I had walked a lot, like every day I used to, to do my demonstrations. The dog was tired too, but he listened to me attentively. In arriving home I sat on the bed and I blew up before putting out my boots. All right, my friend, I said, and I lay in bed. The dog was by my side. First time I heard his voice it did not surprise me, I almost expected it. I was talking to him about Alfonso, Pablo and Jorge, about whom I had already talked to him during our walk, but he had listened to me only. When I mentioned them to him lying, he said: I know them. I was looking at the ceiling, but I stood up and peered into his eyes: Are you talking serious? I asked him sagaciously.

We were talking for a while. The dog was very straight and knew much and had seen almost same as me. Both were sleepy. In a moment we had exchanged many thought’s transmissions enough to get convinced both. Rex even knew my meeting with Alfonso would be the start of general mobilization for the Advent of the III Republic and besides also that extraordinary phenomena could be seen then. It was a very advantageous day, I thought before turning off the light. Sleep, big friend, good night, I said to him as I caressed him stretching my hand. And I slept nothing less than knowing my big friend wanted to carry out revolutionary actions together with me and my comrades. He had told me that if the police arrested us with the machine-guns we would have some day, we could blame him, that he possessed the abilities to be exempt of the responsibility of handling one, I am a dog, let us see what they do then, he had said to me winking at me an eye and sticking out his tongue, and we had laughed.

Next day we awakened when the door bell rang. There were two machine guns inside a rectangular box someone had left at my house’s door, a mackintosh and sunglasses that suited well to my big friend. We both went on foot from my house in Almendrales, Usera, up to Atocha, up to Cuesta de Moyano, the librarians’ street, armed with our machine-guns, he with his mackintosh and his sunglasses. In front of the Ministry of Agriculture there was a farmers virulent demonstration and we saw how the minister and his minions fled from the Ministry in their official cars. My big friend and I took position at Paseo de Recoletos, just beside Jardín Botánico, and from there we shot up with a lot of loud crush and much professionalism all them who were fleeing. When confusion obliged us to flee from there too, we crossed out towards Calle de Atocha with our machine guns yet. They pursued us. I don’t know how, but not looking back I could see they caught up my big friend in the moment he was throwing down his machine gun. I crossed up in danger a traffic light but came out airily and won some meters. I left the machine gun under a car. I went away through the less busy streets and I finally got to Usera, to my house.

When I was getting to the door of my house I saw some policemen who were waiting for me, they would be eight or ten, and they asked me if I knew what had happened in Atocha. I said to them I knew, indeed I had been there, but I had been very afraid and I had run away. They told me somebody had seen me with a dog that had shot with one of the machine guns, that the dog wore a mackintosh and sunglasses. Yes, of course, I said to the policeman in charge, I know the story already, a good-looking dog well dressed that knows some loose words and of appearance kind of not fitting in the Russian Secret Service. Yes, said the officer, that one. That is, you were with him, he said after. But how does it occur to you come to think a dog, although wearing a mackintosh and sunglasses, may handle a machine gun? I asked them. I am sure somebody has gone crazy, I said. They were looking at me fixedly. Where is Rex? I asked. No one answered. The officer reacted and said: Rex and you have shot the minister and his retinue, and that of the dog has an explanation if so close friend to you is. Well, I said, it is a good thing to be close friend to a dog, more even treating it of such a good one, but neither Rex nor I did shoot the minister and his retinue. Then there was silence for a moment. I would never do anything bad, I said then, and a dog, well, a dog, a dog wouldn’t be able to handle a machine gun. How did you finish by thinking Rex could? The policemen looked at me amazed. Nobody can blame him; that is, you cannot blame him, people would think you have gone crazy and would laugh at it, although Rex would become famous, I said. He walks with you then, said the officer. Yes, he is a friend of mine and ha has powers. How is it he has powers? he asked me. We understand very well each other, I said. They all stared at me intrigued. Nothing to hide, I said. You are losing your time if you think someone will take heed, I said to them all after. People will think someone tries to make them believe Rex speaks five languages even, I said then laughing. The mackintosh and the sunglasses fit him well and he is a Saint, he has accompanied me from a long way and has slept with me. If farmers demonstrate at the Ministry of Agriculture, a reason for sure there is. It is not strange everybody supports the farmers and everybody wanted to kill the minister. When the policemen went away I came in home.

I was next day in the yard of my house when my big friend appeared, walking with crutches not too well, with one leg in a cast, with wounds and dressings at some parts of his body, whining but happy. It rained a little. My big friend, what they did to you? I asked him at my house’s yard. Nothing out of the common, he said tiredly. I heard them say someone had seen me shooting up with the machine gun, they didn’t know how, but that a German shepherd wearing mackintosh and sunglasses was unmistakable. They tortured me but they didn’t get anything, for I began to speak and they were so scared that they decided to release me. I have made use of your powers, Rex said. I concentrated, Rex said, and  as to the interrogators reached the movements, the levitations, the coloured auras you send they became desperate. Then I became inflamed and I said to them some loose words intentionally and they realised they could not be able to hand me, that they had to release me. I went away saying to them: Did you want to know my name? Rex, I said to them. Yes, Rex, and I haven’t made anything bad. It’s all right already; let us in peace, finished by telling me the police in charge before they took me to the clinic.

Come on, revolutionary, come in my house and we shall have a good diner and then we shall sleep. We dined splendidly and later we slept as logs. Next day the door bell awakened us. It was Pepopski, and old valiant comrade who wanted to come with us along to the new fighting and most probably definite farmer’s concentration, despite the acts of mourning for the shot in the eve taking place in the Deputies Congress itself, which is very near. Newspapers headlines expressed commotion, with pictures of the place where the assassination took place, and asked for calm. There would be a lot of anti-riot forces trying to impede we assault the Congress. We waiting Revolution are more, agreed the three of us rising our fists. The government has decided not to dispute the zone of Paseo de Recoletos were the minister and his retinue were killed, said Pepopski to me. Rex listened to us. Of course, let us go the three together, today the people will crowd in the streets to assault the Congress, I said as we began to progress. The dog’s name is Rex, I said; Rex, said Rex after; Rex, said Pepopski then, it seems they have beaten you a while ago. Rex remained silent. Pepopski, make yourself an exact idea about what he has been capable to; they tortured him, but he was released of what we have done yesterday because he speaks and today here he comes willing to fight. I knew it had been you, said Pepopski, I do not know why the very instant I came into your house and saw you both, even Rex and his crutches helped me to understand. We were already crossing out La Princesa Bridge towards Plaza de Legazpi and Rex stopped for a moment leaning on his crutches, we stopped too, he looked at us and said: This is a very great pleasure. I would not miss it for anything. Pepopski said to me: Levitate the anti-riot forces, Leopoldo, move them up and let them see it well. I glanced at Rex and Rex nodded waiting the same from me. Let them see it well, please, we could hear Rex saying a bit later, resolute and eager, encouraging me.

I realised the importance of my actions, nothing less than to get at last fulfil the longings of peoples’ common soul, of good will people, collective happiness, in plenitude. I had powers and everyone in the world knew who I was. I had become onmipresent. I had an aura as much visible as further, from which emerges shapes and drawings of different colours and that makes myself worldly recognizable. Alfonso, Pablo and Jorge knew what I was doing all the time, I knew we would meet up some day and we would be capable of working prodigies and it would be start of Spanish Revolution and it would spread all over the world. I knew myself wanted by my communist neighbours who dedicated to me their time, by the boys that painted Picasso’s Guernica beside my house, by militants of revolutionary organizations (marxists-leninists, trotskists and stalinists), by the ones who had already shared with me days of feverish revolutionary activity.

There they were, at Plaza de Legazpi. Many my quarter’s girl and boy friends, and all them with the power to provoke electric shocks with their own energies and directed at their whim with their minds against the fascists and the politicians accomplices who we all knew consented and even promoted misery and poverty. Rex, Pepopski and I were very close to them already. The riot gear should be at Plaza de Atocha and at Plaza de Neptuno, beside the Deputies Congress. I thought of Belén. It had been with her that I had been concious for the first time, she had been too, we may use electricity as a magical gift, and at that moment I took her hand when we were going down Sáinz de Baranda Street to join up many revolutionaries that were not far in the street using their powers for me to see it, and I well say it because they shouted: Poldo! Poldo! Poldo!, and at same time they executed shocks like with an electric shield, that is, before them at a short distance, what made me guess it was almost absolutely the same as carrying machine guns and being fulminating enemies. Having happened once already, it may be expected to happen once again. On greeting each other at Plaza de Legazpi I realised all them actually had powers, they all knew already I had too, even Pepopski and Rex had a sudden electric power aura. Rex realised of his recently acquired power and shot up to the air with his crutches, rising his front legs and getting an amazing electric effect, into immediate space and into heaven’s space. There they were, Ángel, Carlos, Maxi, Vicente, Elena, Julio and others, not necessary to say, many of them, if not all them, are friends or know or had heard about Alfonso, Pablo and Jorge. All the revolutionaries with such powers would not find enemies army capable to impede the revolutionaries forces taking the power. They handed me a gun. I rose up my voice to shout Live Spain! Live the Republic! Live the Revolution! Live the People! Then I shot up all the bullets. The shout was unanimous: Live! Live! Live! And later: Poldo! Poldo! Poldo!

Listen to me!, I raised my voice to make myself be heard. Exploiters police forces are waiting at Plaza de Atocha and sure they have today especially order to massacre demonstrators and we must break up that barrier and get to the Deputies Congress from Plaza de Neptuno! All revolutionary forces in Madrid and in all Spain will be in the streets with the same objective, so they will have no other but to face the enraged multitudes that want to ask for accounts! Precisely besides because yesterday in support of farmers we killed the minister and several counsellors and bodyguards, who as we could guess already would flee away if farmers were planted in front of the Ministry! Today farmers and we Madrid’s eastern and southern revolutionary forces shall break up Atocha’s barrier! I do ask for courage to miltary and police forces to rebel against capital in support of the working class to assault the Congress, to ask for accounts to the deputies and take the power! There were many Live! Live! Live! And I went with of the electric the ones of my quarter and we started to walk along Paseo de Las Delicias up to Atocha. They handed me another gun. There were many who carried a gun, some of them wore a handkerchief around his forehead, and pointed to the ground. I thought if I should begin to shoot up at once. Until then we had only seen four police vans, two on each side of the Paseo, parked, with doors closed and barred windows through which we could see policemen observed us without intevening. In the distance some more vans could be seen, but no policemen, they were inside the vans. It seemed as though we had reached a tacit agreement in letting us revolutionaries do. We got to Plaza Beata María Ana de Jesús. We were making a lot of noise with our acompasated and enthusiatic voices. We could see the riot gear vans at the street’s end, in Plaza de Atocha, well visible their alarm lights in warning. The farmers, that had resolved to take the Ministry of Agriculture by assault, were giving them war at that side of Atocha, supported massively by all revolutionaries from Madrid’s East, Vallecas people would also be there. With us were coming a lot of dogs, that barked out quite and were in high spirits. Rex walked down on his hind legs even wounded and he could not stop to shoot up with his electric crutch, maneouvre that many other dogs imitated and was extraordinary to see. I saw so many people shouting Live the Revolution and so enthusiastic, so enthisiastic I was nyself I shot up to the air all the bullets of my new gun and shouted: Do not let them breathe! Seems difficult but it is not! And later we have Plaza de Neptuno! They handed me another gun. I spoke with the closer of them: Pepopski, Ángel, Carlos, Maxi, Vicente, Rex. Many other people were listening: It seems as if Vallecas people are giving hell to anti-riot forces in Atocha, look at it!, I said to them. The handed me another gun again. Live Spain! Live the Republic! Live the Revolution! Live the People!, I shouted and held the gun in first line seeing all of us already the battle that was waiting for us. The noise was of a very big loud crash, deafening, proclamations of revolutionaries, the sirens noise of police vans and cars, the roar of the battle.

At Plaza de Atocha it turned out we reduced them, we won the battle, and we could hear already revolutionaries were holding at bay the riot gear in Plaza de Neptuno. We could see the place was almost completely taken by revolutionaries. From the place to the Congress, Carrera de San Jerónimo was infested of riot gear. We people from the north and the south joined up and together we imposed ourselves with all our soul and ardently over the riot gear and we got to assault the Deputies Congress. When there was no one that would put obstacles we entered the hemicycle. There had been a sudden silence. Shaking our machine guns and guns we shouted our lives Spain, the Republic, the Revolution and the People. Silence, please!, I asked them amongst the tulmut. The deputies were more dead than alive.

The Popular Front is in essence revolutionary, so all involved in invasons, genocide, slavery, famines, consenters of misery, of povertry, of exploitation, will have to pay for it with their lives! You have committed such severe crimes that we shall be laughing forever for having killed you! Well, then before fire starts, everyone must know that apart from the severe crimes you have committed, we have always been after you waiting to ask you for accounts, henchmen of maffia capital, and to all your accomplices, no doubt you got suspicious about it some time, but also because you forgot there is a big mass of poor people, and you have caused them pain consciously, and because of your effort to approve cruel minimum salary laws. Is it not true you consent famines, misery, poverty and explotation? Well then, before the first bullet hits plain in the president of the government’s heart, I do ask: Is there someone who does not know the male and female diputies are authors and accomplices in invasions, genocide, famine, slavery, detention campments, refugees campments, bombardments of refugees campments, expulsion of natives from their own countries, consenters and promoters of misery, poverty and exploitation? And I do have something more to say yet: your ways leaded to slavery control; that is, you spoke in the name of shit, and for we revolutionaries things consist of the beauty of deeds, but you may never get an idea! Fire! Fire! Fire!

Big colleague, I said when I woke, stretching my arm to touch my friend Rex head with my hand. I couldn’t touch him, I did not know where he could have gone to. I put the lights on and I sat up on bed. There was no one in the room. Rex was not in. Well, I thought, Rex is not in but I know he learned something from me. I opened up the window and curiosly I heard Sena barking, Carlos’s doggie, although she is rather big, daughter of mastiff and belge shepherd: Carlos said to me he would wait for me to wash my face and dress up. Sena seemed enchanted, she likes mcuh the park in my place. I had some times been in Carlos’s house shooting up against the TV as if I was doing it with a machine gun. Sena had seen me doing it and after inspecting the TV had come closer to me and had been very tender with me, rubbed her head with my legs while I caressed her and she had rose up on her hind legs to lean her front legs on my body and tried to lick up my face. We three had a walk across Pradolongo’s Park and later we went to Carlos’s house. Once more I had been shooting up against the TV. Sena came beside me and rose up on her hind legs while with her front legs she shot up against the TV like me, both at same time. Then I realised I had had a dream almost real, for was it not something more than possible it turned something similar to what I dreamt having the people such a combative sipirit? Should not it be enough the quick Sena learned to shoot with a machine gun? The truth is Carlos sees me, but he consents, he knowa I am right, he even says to me when he sees me: That’s what we would have to do with them all. We sat down in the sitting room. Carlos on an armchair and I on the sofa. Sena came to me and posed her head on my knee. Carlos said: Sena, do not bother Leopoldo. Do not worry, I do not mind. It had happened already some times and I had caressed her. On a sudden impulse I told Carlos I had dreamed with Rex. A dog..., I began to say. Vicente’s dog?, Carlos interrupted me. Ah, ah, I had just realised.True, Vicente dog’s name was Rex. Well, If I tell you... I shall tell you if you are capable of listening to me. OK, it’s all right, I will listen to you, Carlos said knowing that whatever I tell him carries big interest deeds, like always. And so much!

My first school in the quarter was Daoíz and Velarde school and I had as classmates Alfonso Romero and Vicente Mohedano de las Heras. Vicente was kind of a rebel. Standing the three of us at the school’s entrance door I told Vicente Alfonso and I had killed a man in the village. Alfonso had said: It was you. A liitle yes I did it because like I shall tell you later I knew something more and not only to impress Vicente. Later in time we three were friends although we studied in different colleges. Some day someone told me Alfonso y Vicente had hit each other and apparently Vicente had stabbed Alfonso. I went to the poolroom and they told me that they had quarrelled and had gone to the back street and Vicente had stabbed Alfonso. Another common friend of both, the Brujillas, I know you know him. What does he do? I know him but it has been a long time since I do not know anything about him, Carlos said. Well then, The Brujillas told me to go to Alfonso’s house. We went. Alfonso was seated on a chair with all his body bandaged and a guna in his hand. His mother, Pablo Cabo and Jorge Olivas were beside him. Alfonso said to me: We are going to shoot.

For me it was enough. I knew that the three of them belonged to GRAPO (Antifascist Resistance First of October Group) and that they were going to carry out terrorist actions. Never, under no circumstances, I could think Alfonso wanted to avenge on Vicente. A little after this, Alfonso told me Vicente and he used to meet up now and then and I would some day understand why the fight was planned. The case is I lived out from the quarter and in England for some time. I met up Alfonso and Pepe Priego at Plaza del Dos de Mayo a week before I saw on a 12 inches hired TV in a sudents hotel in England, in Ramsgate, Kent, Alfonso, Pablo, Jorge and my brothers Arturo and Miguel carrying out terrorist actions, the killing of president of government Carrero Blanco in 1973, the proclamation of the Third Republic in Puerta del Sol on 14 April 1931. A well known journalist apperaed to say to me the president knew it already, and to get out of there. The president knows it already. Get out of there, he said to me. Later my father shooting up as he enters a room; assassinations: businessman Bultó, Italian prime minister Aldo Moro, Patricia Hearst and others belonging to the Simbiotic Liberation Army, a girl called Patricia too, lure of ours in the strife against fascism, daughter of a fascist and niece of fascist general in the military dome Jaime Miláns del Bosch, being whipped with a belt during a masochist session from which she was exhausted; Lee Harvey Oswald shooting John F. Kennedy, Sirhan Bishara Sirhan shooting Robert F. Kennedy; the bombardment of Dresden; a moment of confusion: Somoza’s police shooting up against a crowd of workers and students; the explosions of bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, filmed all the trajectory of the bomb falling down over Hiroshima and reproducible the vision of the impact; the execution of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun; Lenin giving speeches, the execution of the Romanoff; a soviet missils launch in Afghanistan; Leonidas Breznev, Mao Tse Tung, Fidel Castro and Kim Il Sun presiding a desk and issuing a communiqué proclaiming me as leader of Revolution in Spain and leader of the International Communist Party, announcing me that on meeting up again Alfonso, Pablo and Jorge, it would be the start of Revolution in Spain and around the world, the war against Capital that has so much time taken us busy.

Carlos made a gesture which meant I am listening, go on. That simply, because he for sure knows the three of them better than me, and this happens too with others who know and hide it from me. But it doesn’t matter, it is here I wanted to come to. A little after I saw the executions microfilm, I expected to meet them up immediately to command the fusillades, although they did not come and I told some people about what I had seen on the microfilm and externalized publicly my enthusiasm, doing as if I was shooting up, from bar La Estrella or from somewhere near, at police cars coming through Santuario Street, where I always waited for Alfonso, Pablo and Jorge to come at once; shooting up with a fake gun throughout Madrid’s most thronged streets and squares cheering up Spain, the Republic, Revolution and the People...

Rex had with me too a lot of love, wanted to play with me all the time, used to come to me for me to caress him. The case is one day I was going up Cristo de la Victoria Street with Manuel Banderas and we saw that Vicente and Rex were going up too in front of us. It occurred to me to shout: Dog! Dog! Vicente had halted on the sidewalk with his dog. Manuel was walking beside me and I enjoyed it joyfully because they had halted. Vicente’s reaction when I went to him was of being angry. He asked me why I had called him dog. How?, I asked him. The dog adores me, I was calling him, I said to him. He then punched me on my mouth and it made me bleed a little from my lips. We engaged ourselves, but although I had made use of all my might I realised at once he was only protecting himself as if he did not want to fight. I separated from him not understanding it too well and Manuel Banderas told me to go away, and we went away, not without saying to Vicente before the dog adored me, that it was the dog I was calling to.

But you kept on being friends, weren’t you? Yes, I used to go to his place quite often and then I went to write his autobiography. His autobiography?, Carlos asked me. Yes, I limited myself to transcribe what he was telling me, doing some corrections of his words, but almost nearly always his own. Well then, by the time I was writing to him his autobiography, he had a two years doggie called Chincheta that adored me too, she used to come to me in the very moment she saw me, she smelled me and did a kissing on my feet, she seated at my feet or beside me on the sofa. Vicente carried the doggie loose. When we came out we used to look at each other in case there was a race, for I had already challenged her to race and she had won. I challenged her again, she always won, and I saw see laughed cheerfully and jumped up while staring at me and panting after the effort, until one day I won Chincheta and that day she came to me to congratulate me and she jumped up beside me very proud.

But, well, things were like they were: Vicente was found dead in 1996. I reached to see Vicente’s naked feet and they did not let me come into his room. They said he had died and took him away completely wrapped up with an enormous sheet and well subject to a wheelchair. I took Chincheta to Rosi, Vicente’s sister who lives at Ribera de Curtidores. Vicente missed Rex a lot. He told me the dog understood him a thousand times perfectly and he enjoyed a great time with him and he took notice of Rex enjoying greatly his company.

You say it yourself, Carlos said: the maffia capitalist and the bourgeois are scared, more when they see the working class creating an armed Popular Front. He stood up and went out to the kitchen. On the TV screen appeared the parliament and I started to shoot up. Sena was very quick, she did same as me, both of us at the same time. Are you already?, Carlos asked from the kitchen. Yesterday’s Rex learnt very soon, Vicente’s Rex would follow suit, and look how Sena understands! How glad would Chincheta have come! Well, it’s all right, Leopoldo, that it seems it is going to give you an outburst. Carlos, we will see when once more we electrify them! It will be hurtful for them!, Carlos said.

I then exclaimed: All the people who flattered the Borbones all this time! The Army invading countries of people friend! The politicians class consenting misery and poverty! Hurting consciously!

Carlos said caressing Sena: Sena knows what she has to do and I am sure she would like to come with us carrying a machine gun and with other dogs that would learn at once and to bark and bite to whom they know we hate.

Had you seen how Rex shot! What he did with a crutch!, I said.
