Building Your Family
The Board of Directors:
The Coordinating Committee And Coalition Building
The overall coordinating committee of this family organization will be the Coordinating Committee. The overall organization will be the:
The Education Committee
The Resources Committee
The Real Estate Commitee
The Jobs and Employment Committee
Each of these are outlned in other chapters.
This Board of Directors-Coordinating Committee:
It will be made of up those from each group and other individuals who can be asked to come in as advisers as required.
The group will hold the charter for the overall non-profit organization and thereby protectng the status of the group and the individual assets of family members.
The non-profit charter will spell out the rules of the Family Organization and, being a non-profit, and the responsibilbites of the non-profect to state and federal authorities.
It will be composed up and be directed by the input of the various family units and the overall yearly plan for the Family Organization and coordinating it's implemention.
Composed of at least three members and three representatives from constitutant committees, it will seek to organize internal members to coordinte over all family activities, but also to look to civic and community engagement and build coalitions with other organizations in the community; looking perhaps to create a "Families United" movement in the community and perhaps nationwide; because this movement has nation wide potential which should be pursued.
How this can explicitedly be done will be looked at in subsequent chapters.
All this formal organization looks a bit formidable for most families that are far-flung or dysfunctional. It will take a strong, organization minded, leader to put this all together for a family. My immediate family is in close contact and always willing to help out in a group situation, like helping our mother. But we live so far away, committee meetings would be impossible to have face-to-face. Perhaps through the Internet, though.
