Work Ethic: First Kiss: Labor Theory of Value
By Dr Patrick A ODougherty
I happened to grow up in Southwest Minneapolis by Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun. For some inexplicable reason I thought it was a good idea to develop a strong work ethic at a young at. I got a Star and Tribune Paper route for the Upton area and also a Lake Harriet Courier Route which was delivered once a week. I was very proud of my route coin changer and yellow paper bags. In Grade School I read almost all of the books in the basement of the Linden Hills Public Library, For Example, Zane Grey Riders of the Purple Sage.
A second route I garner for the Star Tribune under Mr Duncan covered a new apartment complex off Drew Avenue. I was in the ninth grade and began high brow reading. I came across a massive work in a some what subversive field psychoanalysis: The Interpretation of Dreams. I introduced this work to friends of mine like Cheryl. There was a new student at Southwest high school Named Sandy Miller who moved into the apartments off drew avenue. Sandy Miller had her had frosted strawberry blond. While I was delivering the StarTrib to her apartment and was discussing the Interpretation of Dreams with her, she bent down and gave me a kiss on my lips. It was my first kiss. This was my reward for my strong work ethic. Revolution was and still is lipstick. This is the Labor Theory of Value in my adolescence!
