She gripped her Glock 7, her palms covered with blood from the crime scene.
Down in the valley she could hear the whirring, the vowel like thump-thump of high pitched engines swooshing for a lift off, in defiant precision.
Kara crouched like a stalking panther, ready to attack in order to survive. She couldn't prevent what happened. Except now, her very own life was threatened by an anomaly with mechanical whirs in the valley.
Only...she hoped maybe this one bullet, carefully placed, could make a grand difference.
