New Years Eve

Bill Falstaf and his wife Jackie were having a NewYears dinner party. Rick Randolph when he arrived from Elk Neck, Maryland was greeted by the Falstaf’s. Bill and Jackie’s daughter Judy, who was visiting, was there with her parents. Martin and Dianne Karre who had been invited greeted Rick, along with the football legend Dan Forsythe, his wife Deirdra Forsythe the women’s golf legend and their son Philadelphia Diamonds 2007 Rookie Of The Year, Shortstop, Drew Forsythe.

When the Hors D’oeuvres appetizers were served, Bill Falstaf got to talking with Rick Randolph. Bill asked Rick how was his Christmas holiday. Rick replied saying that he spent several days visiting with his parents and the time spent with them was very enjoyable, adding that his sister Nancy and her husband Mark were there on Christmas Day.

Rick inquired, asking Bill how his Christmas was, and Bill replied answering that his daughter Jackie had stayed with them for a days with him and Jackie.

When it came time for dinner, Bill and Jackie served standing rib roast and the holiday fixings of baked potato’s, stuffing, green bean casserole and candied yams. Rick was seated between Martin and Dianne Karre. Of course their conversation turned toward the Karre’s most famous client, Rick’s ex wife Alicia Reynolds. Rick asked about how the Reynolds were handling all of Alicia’s legal problems and the resulting fallout from it and their reply was not what anyone would want to hear. Martin Karre explained how Alicia had decided to release a 2nd greatest hits CD album, but after doing so, sales did not even come close to the expected sales volume, which was very disappointing, reaching only number 28 on the U.S Country Music CD Album charts and a paltry number 38 on the U.S. Pop CD Album Charts. Continuing, Martin added that Alicia was very disappointed, but people have nor forgotten how she went wayward and that the public had not forgotten about the riot that she created at the American Casino Hotel and the resulting court sentence.

Rick asked the Karre’s, “Is Alicia planning any other recording projects”. Dianne Karre spoke up and answered Rick’s question stating the Alicia is in such a quandary over the lack of CD sales and poor positioning on the music charts.” Continuing, Dianne added that, “Alicia has been wanting to put out a new CD album of all new material, but has held off because once again she is not well received by the public after the Casino riot and her resulting court sentence”. Then Dianne added, “Because of the poor public response, at this point Alicia is leaning toward putting out a special 2 song CD package, whose purpose is the gauge and test the CD record market, but those prospects do not hold much in the way of positive response”.

Rick responded by saying, “That must be pretty difficult for someone like her, who for years was always at the top of the charts”. Then Rick added, “Well, how about her parents, how are they handling her downward spiral from being on top of the pinnacle for so long”. Both Martin and Dianne just shook their heads, and both said, “Not well at all, they are not taking it well, they are very frustrated with her and have told her continually that she is the only one responsible for her downfall and that she may recover from the resulting drama from her poor choices”.

Later, as the clock was closing in on the midnight hour, everyone was preparing for the arrival of the New Year and the celebration. When the clock struck midnight and everyone raised their glasses of champaign, hollered cheers and the celebration began. Rick was standing next to Judy Falstaf, who planted a kiss with her lips on to Rick’s lips and then with a great big smile happily wished Rick a very happy prosperous and successful New Year.
