The Former InLaws Arrive

Rick had received a phone call from the parents of Alicia Reynolds, Fred and Carolyn Reynolds. They wanted to come down from their home in Broomall, Pennsylvania to come pick up Alicia’s belongings, especially her clothing, shoes that she left behind at the house in Elk Neck, Maryland.

Fred and Carolyn Reynolds arrived in their SUV about 10 am. They had told Rick when he could expect them to arrive, so he was patiently waiting for them to pull up in the driveway.

Rick went to greet his former inlaws. Fred and Carolyn were saddened over the whole situation with their daughter and her behavior. Greeting one another, both of the Reynolds gave Rick a big hug, for they felt so very sorry for Rick and what he had been put through and then to be injured the way he was, left the Reynolds even more saddened for Rick.

The three of them sat down in the kitchen chairs around the kitchen table for a while to converse about what had transpired with Alicia in the recent months.

Carolyn Reynolds started off by saying, “Alicia is my my daughter, I love her dearly, but I never thought that she would throw her life with you away, plus everything else that she has achieved and earned, to discard it and associate with a low life seedy crowd”.

Fred Reynolds then spoke up saying, “It was like she has been living a double life, she has put up a facade. Continuing, Fred Reynolds went on to say, “Carolyn and myself have found out that apparently she was putting on the nice act around us and had been a totally different person around everyone else. Alicia has been very arrogant, conniving, belittling and nasty to others”.

Then Carolyn Reynolds continued by adding, “Then Fred and myself found out from others that she was turning down offers to collaborate with other singers and musicians, turned down to work with the group “Keystone Bay” and even her own cousin Ashlee Gannon, because she apparently wanted all of the glory for herself and if another singer or group knocked her out of the number 1 spot on the country music charts she would become very angry about it.

Rick Randolph who had been listening, spoke up and said, “I thought that it was very strange that Alicia had come home after supposedly a rather long spell on the road to sing the National Anthem the night that the Diamonds won the Carrington Cup Championship and then sang at the after the game presentations, then she left once again the next day to perform in Las Vegas, only to be the ring leader in the casino hotel riot not too long afterwards. I really never thought that Alicia would actually do any of that behind my back and to be involved with people who were part of a conspiracy against me and I wonder how much she knew about what was going on.

Fred Reynolds then said, “Having talked on the phone to your dad, Gerald and your former manager Bill Falstaf, both of them explained to me the particulars about the situation. Bill Falstaf said to me that it’s a wide spread problem, including some team owners and it goes all the way up to the commissioners office. Apparently Alicia got suckered in with these people and was helping to cooperate with them. That’s why when everything went down and they were arrested and jailed, so she decided on a very hasty annulment of her marriage with you and demanded that it be processed immediately”.

Both Carolyn and Fred said to Rick that they were very sympathetic for what he had been through and they were on his side and were very disappointed that their own daughter intentionally did everything she could to back stab him”.

The Reynolds said, “Well, now that we have let you know how both of us feel about the whole situation, let’s get on to what we came for”. Rick took them to the dining room and showed them the 10 boxes of Alicia’s personal belongings.

One by one the two of them loaded up the boxes in their SUV. After several trips loading up the SUV, all of Alicia’s boxes of personal belongings were loaded up in the vehicle.

It was now 1:00 pm, Fred and Carolyn each gave Rick a big hug, said their goodbye’s, climbed into their SUV, backed out of the driveway and waved to Rick as they pulled out into the road and headed back home to Broomall.
