The storyteller goes on a mission to save the earth
The Storyteller And The Gibilley Gooks
By Paul McCann

In a boat on the ocean, he sat alone thinking of timers that were long gone and civilizations that had become extinct . He wondered about the creation of life and all of a sudden, a crack of lightning struck just in front of him from the sky . At the same time a pillar of light descended around him and a doorway between dimensions opened .
A guide from another time and place emerged from the light and spoke .

“Hello again storyteller how is you these days?

“ Well, I’m as you see sitting here alone in an ocean like a speck of dust on the earth ?”

Came the reply and the unearthly guide pointed to the sky and said.

“Look beyond the earth storyteller . Imagine how small this world of yours is within the universe . This planet is just a tiny speck in the great cosmos out there“

“ How true so what is the reason for your visit here with me ?

The guide hovered across the water and sat down beside the storyteller on the boat and said

“There is a mission we need you to do in a corner of the cosmos where life is just beginning on a planet similar to this one . You must go there and bring back a three gibilley gooks on board your boat that will be transported with you through an extra dimensional time warp . “

The storyteller replied .

“Tell me more about this distant planet where I am bound to go “

“Let me tell you first about the known universe that you know . All the planets here in this galaxy where the earth belongs has a number of planets that they say are barren of life however , in the fourth dimension or in the spiritual world those barren planets are thriving with people and life , The reality is it cannot be seen by the eyes of morals “

“You mean the moon is inhabited ?’

He asked and the guide nodded his head then he said ,

“Yes, indeed storyteller and so are all the other planets that you know exist out there . Now far beyond this galaxy there is another dimension and within that part of the cosmos a planet called Acentris is evolving . There are many creatures now living there with specific tasks to do each day like the jumping cushie bears who trample down tracks through the mountains for the lanky legged lumber birds who are coming to trim the long grass and plant seeds to fill the forests paths with wildflowers .
There are other life forms like the peppertree clinkerbells who bore holes into the side of cliffs making caves for the nocturnal squigee birds that provide night feeds for the creatures of the oceans like the singing mermaids and the amphibious octopuses who are searching the oceans and seashore for other life forms that are appearing out of nowhere every day . Then there are the gibbilley gooks who paint the ocean plants and coral with bright florescent colours that have been extracted from the same coral and plants that you have here on earth .
We need the gibilley gooks to come here for a while and restore the colours of all plant life and coral over the earth . Your planet is in great danger with fissures and cracks now opening in the deep oceans around your planet . Recent explosions and nuclear tests have started an effect known as greenhouse anithopia . The life from your oceans is dying and the solution is to restore the florescence and colour that once existed here on your planet . That is why you must go to Acentris and bring three of the gibilley gooks to earth .

The storyteller asked .

‘How long will they be here for “

The guide replied.

“For as long as it takes . Go now “

The guide returned to the pillar of light that disappeared from sight .
A huge tornado descended upon the ocean from the sky and as it landed on the surface of the ocean a whirlpool started to spin around and around at great speed . The whirlpool that formed in the water spun and was lifted from the ocean into the sky above taking the little boat up into the mouth of the watery vortex that started to shimmer with a blinding light and in seconds the boat was transported through time and space to an open sea on Acentris.

The ocean was calm and glowing with many colours . Mermaids were singing .

The storyteller called out to them .

“Do you know where I can find the gibilley gooks ?”
One of the mermaids approached and spoke in a telepathic voice .

“You must be the storyteller . We were told to expect you . Just wait here for a while until I swim deep down to the place where the gibilley gooks live ?”

When the mermaid disappeared, he sat alone in his little boat on the ocean in a distant planet in the corner of the cosmos . A purple sun shone down from a sky . The silence was broken by an eight legged octopus who jumped up from the ocean into the boat and spoke.

“Hello storyteller , my name is Jigger . Do they have creatures like me on your planet ?

He replied .

“We have creatures who look like you do but they cannot talk Jiggy “

Jiggy asked .

“Can you tell me somethings about your planet ?”

As the storyteller began to speak the octopus was riveted to every word as he told stories of the wars and nuclear weapons that have been made by humans . He also spoke of sickness and disease . Then he mentioned some of the great advancements in medicine and the kind people in the world who save lives and the gardeners of the earth who grow things to feed all the people of the earth . The purple sun disappeared and a darkness fell over the land . Overhead in the sky a weird kind of noise like shrieks of thunder was heard .

“What is going on Jiggy ?”

The storyteller asked and the octopus replied ,

“‘It’s the squidgee birds . They always come at night to drop food over the ocean for everyone here .“

At that moment the mermaid returned with three gibilley gooks . Jiggy jumped from the boat into the water and said ,

“Thanks for the story . Nice to meet you . I’m going to eat now “

As the gibilley gooks got into the boat . They were funny looking creatures with fish like skin and great big googly eyes . The arms were long and seemed to have an armour like thorny appearance and their hands were like huge shovels with finger like fins.
Suddenly a giant tornado descended from the sky and landed on top of the water forming a whirlpool that ascended into the sky . The little boat was taken up into the vortex and in seconds disappeared out of sight and at the same time the boat it was returned to earth .

The gibilley gooks all laughed together and said ,

“Wow that was fun , still now funs over , it’s time to get to work now . We have so much to do and so little time to do it . Here’s hoping we can save your planet but its going to take some time .

They all jumped from the boat into the water.

“Good luck”

The storyteller said and, in that moment, the gibbily gooks were gone.
He sat alone in his boat looking up at the sky thinking about the creator of life and how awesome that work was .
