Authoritarianism is more than alive and well as he parades words like “vermin” and “blood” into his echo chamber of 1937 rhetoric and evil actions.

Dancing Clown Fiction

So worn out is the resistance

So torn asunder principles once valued

So debilitating the feared possibilities

He was here unrelenting for years

His vast terrors concealed

By the continuous Reality Show of absurdity

Of suntan and smiles

Mixed with grimaces of hate and ridicule

From rose gardens of lies

But…

Nature always tells the truth

With teeth-grinding to his dark words

And holding quietly as if listening

Life’s Praying Mantis of determination

Knowing perhaps much more of what’s to come

Starts its dance

Or…

Why would the massive starving expression

So transparent in the light

So swift its learned bite

So remembered in the landslide decapitation coming

Take flight to the next need for another just reward

Dance clown

Dance your last

One has to wonder to whom this clown dance refers. I can think a of a few faces to fit the bill.
And isn't language also an interesting dance... where the word author is found in the word Authoritarian and authority ... and yet, as merely explorers of life, we do not claim to be either.
