life is good and no matter what happens , or what people say or do, there’s always a new day tomorrow.
I woke up in a place of silent retreat and contemplated going for a hike or a ride on my bike .It’s quiet on the track in the early morning and I needed time to reflect on what had happened yesterday . Even though that was in the past , I needed to convince myself that today is a new day with adjustments to make and recognizing what was going in the present .
I needed to get out of the house and make myself scarce somewhere away from the trappings of wall and ceilings so out the door I went and took a hike and left the bike against the door as if someone was home .
It was a new day indeed and the sun was shinning . I used my senses as a shroud to keep away any negative thoughts of what happened yesterday.
I heard birds singing and the sound of my feet walking on the road until I reached the short cut, that went through the grass field where the old ruined cottage stood .
The gable wall were covered in weeds and bird droppings . It had been leased to nature and no one had lived there for many years .
The touch of gossamers over my face had me waving my arms and hands to push of any would be spider that might have been there .
I could see the steam just up ahead as the sun arose .
The colours of the morning sky spread themselves over the stream as I approached the clusters of conifer trees that stood on the other side of the stream .
So across the stepping stones I went with the water running in between and trickling on its way to where the wild blackberries grew . Still adjusting to the new day with little steps , one foot in front of the other .
Down the path where the honeysuckle bushes stood to the scent of jasmines that filled my head with notions of peace . It had the same effect as the lavender bags did that were placed in the bedroom .
Every season of life has its own scent and taste and today was no different , it was new day and the darkness and chill of winter had gone.
I walked along the track to the stream where the wild blackberries grew and took out the note I had wrote about what had happened yesterday and I lit a little fire and burnt the paper note and watched the smoke rise into the air . .
There were butterflies and horseflies , ever some dragonflies there as well . maybe wondering where the smoke was coming from .
After my ritual of the morning was finished I turned back to go home and somewhere between honey pots and blossoms , I had found midseason’s rapture in the sound of the humming and there was something buzzing in the trees that sounded like a spring song of what life is all about .
It’s funny how bees make honey is so runny and yummy especially on sunny days when the blossoms are out and the sky is so blue and the and all around you is the
picture of new day . I was listening to the whistling of birds and feeling a healing there with the glistening of the sun over the stream .
The sights and sounds of a new day was a hypnotic experience that helped me forget losing my job and feeling sad and unsure about the future .
Every new day is a new start with an attachment of hope and a time to appreciate the beauty of life all around us . I discovered when people don’t appreciate you and the things you do , that’s the time to go out there and appreciate the beauty of life that’s all around us because life is good and no matter what happens , or what people say or do , there’s always a new day tomorrow ,
