Barbara, now aged 14, writes of her bout of the flu. Several members of her family also have it.
Criminy! What a way to spend the weekend: sick in bed! :(
I have the flu, as does daddy, Ronee', Gemini, Enriquesa, and Sun-Hee. We are all in bed, sneezing our heads off and coughing; we sound like a flock of Canada geese, we are coughing so bad! I got the flu last night (caught it from Gemini, I think), and this morning, Ronee' woke us up, crying that she puked all over her bed. (She did, too. What a MESS! [Ronee' absolutely HATES to throw up!]) So, as a result, we didn't go to church today, and, of course, we didn't go out to eat at the Golden Corral for breakfast, like we usually do each and every Sunday. Maman has been busy "playing nurse", tending to those who are sick.
I was nauseated last night (threw up only once), but I am now over that (THANK GOD). But now I feel all stuffy, my throat and head aches something terrible, my chest is wheezy feeling and it hurts to breathe in deeply, and my joints feel like they had been through a major workout. I am very miserable, and I doubt that I will even go to school this week, I feel so bad. I probably don't look much better; in fact, I probably look like death warmed over!
We have managed to avoid the flu bug, but now it has finally hit our family in a big way. Now six people have it, and who knows who will come down with it next. I sure hope it isn't Johnny, Jodie, Todd, or Debby because their health is so precarious when they DON'T have the flu, and any little bug can make them all dreadfully sick and put them into the hospital. Each time Johnny, Debby, Todd, or Jodie get sick, it is a time of uncertainty and fear for us because their immune systems aren't as strong as ours, and when they get sick, they get hit especially HARD!
I pray that doesn't happen....
Well, I know this isn't much, but what can I write about when I am stuck in bed? If maman knows I was on the computer, she may get good and mad because she has banished the sick ones to their bed, and they are NOT to leave the bed under NO circumstances UNLESS it is to go to the restroom or to barf in the toilet! (And hopefully, none of us will MISS!) So I am afraid I must go. Will write more when I am feeling a bit better! (Will write of my 14th birthday next time.)
Until then, take care, and ciao! (That's "goodbye" in Italian.)
Ugh I hate the flu, poor little Mikey was sick with it for a week, not even able to keep juice down, he got over it and now has a cold :S God Bless
