When I first heard that we were going to war 21 days ago, I felt sickened to my stomach. I was afraid that we would get attacked, and although that hasn't happened so far (THANK GOD!), I still find it hard to sleep at night (and I already have a hard enough time sleeping at night due to my arthritis). I fear for our country, because I don't know what will happen, and that is most upsetting to me.
Johnny:
The thought of war makes me sick inside. War is no good for ANYBODY, and too many innocent people are killed: men, women, and children, even little babies. War is all about fighting and violence, and that is not the best way to solve problems!
Barbara:
The Iraqi war has been hard on military families, especially for those who have people who are serving in the war. They don't know if they will see their loved ones again, and they are so uncertain as to what the future will hold. That is probably the hardest thing about this war because you don't know if someone you love or know is going to be killed or come back, a former shell of their selves.
Fahid M. (friend):
I am against this war. We don't need to be going after Iraq. We are way too busy helping other nations; why help our own first and then help the others after we help our people? It's not fair that we have to be the world's police!

I am originally from Iraq, and this war scares me because I have family back in Iraq, where I used to live. I came to America two years ago, right before September 11, 2001, and it hasn't been easy. I fled Iraq to escape Saddam's tyranny, and besides, if any of his people knew my family was against him, we would have been killed, so we came to America. But I still have aunts, uncles, and cousins there, and I don't know if they are still alive. All the bombings they show on tv makes me cry because I am so afraid that is in my relatives' area, and I am so scared that they will be badly hurt or killed by all the bombs and gunfire. War is a horrible thing, and I wouldn't want to ever go through it again.

I am for the war because Saddam needs to be stopped. And the sooner, the better. He is a very evil man, and he has murdered his own people. For far too long, they [the people of Iraq] have lived under his tyrannic rule, and they deserve freedom from his dictatorship. He may be the President of his country, but he is a dictator, and he needs to be ousted. And the sooner, the better it will be for humanity.
Jodie (as told by her mother):
I want this war to end. Saddam is a bad man, and he needs to be taught a lesson. I hope we get him!
Jamie-Leigh:
I have an uncle who is fighting in Iraq, and it makes me sad because I don't know if I will ever see him again. We haven't heard from him in a month, and we are all starting to get worried. I am scared he is hurt or he got killed. Oh, I hope we hear from Uncle Pete soon!
Anh Kim:
I hate war, and we don't belong in a country like Iraq. Too much unrest and violence there! And with Saddam still in power, there's no telling what the future may hold. That's the worst part of being in a war. We could be attacked, too, and that would be awful. I don't want another September 11, 2001, to happen ever again; once was more than enough!
