Dear One And All:
Hello! This is M'Kaya again; I am sorry if I haven't written in a while, but I have been busy. Between packing and getting ready to go to Ground Zero for the memorial service for the victims of 9-11 and their families, Franklin working his ass off, making last minute preps for our approaching baby boy (I am now 7 months pregnant; and my stomach is so big now it looks like I am having OCTUPLETS!! NO kidding; I am as big as a HOUSE! Maybe two houses!), and trying to deal with this damn M.S., I haven't had much time for myself. I am so busy I don't know whether I am coming or going, and sometimes I SWEAR I pass myself in the middle! LOL And this pregnancy sure is rough on my bladder; I am living in the bathroom because it seems like I have to pee every two seconds; I am always on the toilet, it seems!! LOL I don't know what Junior is doing in my belly, but I think he may be teaching himself the Lambada, the Cha-Cha-Cha, or the Macarena..SOMETHING to that effect! LOL
We are leaving for Connecticut tonight (we are staying at Franklin's auntie's house); we have already gotten our HUMMER packed, and we shall be back probably the beginning of next week UNLESS something MAJOR happens (and let's NOT hope that anything DOES!). We will be there until Wednesday; and from there, we'll leave and go back to New York City for the memorial. But I wanted to fire off this letter to you, to let you know that all is well with Franklin and myself.
Franklin is taking a week off from his job, and it is nice havin' a man around the house. Whenever he is home, he spoils me. And a girl can really live with that! :D He is being Mr. Fixit Man; he has fixed the a/c unit (it was fixin' to die on us; it REALLY got hot in our apartment! I felt like a beached whale in the sun; and I was nearly stripped down to my altogether before Franklin FINALLY fixed the a/c!), and he also fixed the dishwasher after it vomited soapy water all over the kitchen floor; wow, what a mess THAT was! Took nearly three f***ing hours to clean all the soapy bubbles off the kitchen floor! But ever since then, our apartment hasn't had any more problems (KNOCK ON WOOD!!).
I have been incredibly sad these past few days; with the anniversary of the terrorist attacks quickly approaching, I don't want to be reminded; I have lost too many of my friends as it were, and besides, I still can't look at my beloved NYC skyline without crying; it just doesn't look the same without the Twin Towers gracing its skyline. I know I will be crying my eyes out, and I know that I will be having nightmares again. I DON'T want to go to the memorial, but for Stephanie's sake, I know I MUST.
I STILL haven't heard from M'buti and Roberto, and I am starting to think they are mad at me. PLEASE let them know that I am thinking of them, and I would LOVE to hear from them! Just to let me know that they are ALIVE and OKAY!!!!
Got a letter from Louisiana the other day; she was still awaiting word on her book, "A Family Made Out of Miracles and Rainbows: The Sandusky Family Story--A True Story of Love and International Adoption". She was saying it had been rejected once, but she had sent the manuscript off to another publisher, and she was waiting to hear from them. I got the letter the day after Labor Day; she said that Johnny was doing well, and that they were at the telethon all day. She said her family was doing about as well as could be expected.
I am feeling pretty good, physically, but my pregnancy has made it hard for me to get around easily. Franklin rented me a wheelchair, and he doesn't want me walking around on my crutches, in case I should happen to fall. He is being a very good gentleman about it, and he loves taking care of me. And he loves being off work. He even made my favorite dinner the other day: homemade pizza! YUM, but was it ever GoooOOOOOOD!! I think I ate over half of it! LOL Think I still feel it in my belly; still feel full (and NOT just because of Junior!! LOL). My M.S. has been behaving itself for the MOST part; but still have to pee like a Russian racehorse! (WHY do you think I am near a bathroom at ALL times?? LOL)
Well, Franklin says that it is about time to go, so I shall write when I can. If anything will happen, I will have him get in contact with you; but don't worry about me: I'm a big girl now (in more ways than I'd like to admit! LOL); I can take care of myself! I'll be okay! Please do take care, and write ME once in a while; WHY do I have to be the one doing all the writing????
With much love, M'Kaya and Frankie. ((((HUGS)))) to each and every one of you (but ESPECIALLY you, Mama Dear!).
C-Ya!!
*We will call when we get to Auntie Clarissa's house! We PROMISE!!*
