Success Story
I was encouraged to to write my life story by my dear wife, so being an unknown author I decided to self publish. It took me ten years to complete my story with the help of my wife's typing skills. it covered every aspect of my turbulent life which started as a 13 year old boy who was sent to Canada from Jamaica in 1947. Although my writing was a bit amateurish to start, it had enough drama and grit to attract a publisher. He was looking for a Canadian immigrant story, and was the President of Blue Butterfly Book Pub. Inc. He brought in some of the best editors to work with me, so as not to loose my voice. After seeing the results he was very impressed, and made me a good offer at no cost to me like self-publishing was. This 2nd edition was released in 2008, and did quite well being an unknown author in the book world. More success came when Universities in Canada and around the world became interested in it's use in the Social Science & Humanities Departments. I felt good about these developments as my work was not a failure, but a success as a new author who never gave up. My thanks to all, Gerald.
