Croft delivers a retro tale of fantasy set in 1960 East Anglia. Initially concerned I would find his simplistic tone offputting, I found the innocent and child-like voice of the narrative lent itself well to the overall feeling of good, clean fun. A steadily paced novel perhaps best suited to older children with more advanced reading skills, or nostalgic adults hoping to regress into one!
Now my omnibus edition is at #1 in the popular fantasy books. Oh, if it only meant that it was selling!
THREE BOOK FOR THE PRICE OF TWO!
I still await Ann Widdecombe's response to my book.
But, being at number 2 with 'The Fantastic Journey' in the Fantasy Books top ten on AuthorsDen, even if only for a short time - that's some kind of success, I suppose?
And a local bookshop has just sold 2 copies of 'The Fantastic Journey' to complete strangers - not much, but that will do for me!
