This is a collection of poetry about Oklahoma. Since Oklahoma means, "Home of the Red Man," I have included poems about those native americans who came before us.
One of my favorite poems, a first place winner in 2002, is "Daughter of the Chickasaw,"
and it is included in this collection.
Also included is a first place winning poem, "Battle Cry." After reading this poem, Pulitzer Prize Award nominee, Harvey Stanbrough commented that he could "Hear the Drums." Perhaps you will too!
