In the Catholic church, a requiem mass is traditionally a funeral mass in Latin, reserved for heads of state. I wrote this book during a period of mourning. My father had recently passed away, my energies were increasingly devoted to daily routines: work, running a household, time with my family... the things we all get caught up in. I began to feel like the everyday things were stealing my identity. As I wrote this book, I began to realize how much of it is a tribute to my dad. Through my exploration of my own feelings of loss and the subsequent hope that we can live forever through the lives we enrich, I feel this volume will be of great value to anyone who has experienced loss in theri own lives. There is great power in words, and I hope I have used mine wisely. My heartfelt thanks to all who have supported me. I hope this book brings some form of relief to those hearts in distress.
