Diary of a Food Whore, in a nut shell, depicts the life of a chef, who just happened to have been a professional basketball player. I lived in different parts of Europe and Asia as a paid athlete, but in my down time, was trained by a host of Executive Chefs in six different countries.
The wonderful thing about this book is that after every chapter, there are recipes that coincide with the period that the preceeding chapter was written about! How cool is that!
I begin as a six year old child with simple recipes and finish as a bonafide chef with the more complex recipes. All the while, I speak about my family and what was instilled in me at a young age and how the passion began.
It's a feel good book. Most chef's can tell a similar story, but no one that I know of has included recipes to share the ride with!
